[00:00:03] >> GOOD EVENING AND WELCOME TO THE JUNE BUSINESS MEETING OF THE FERNDALE SCHOOL BOARD. [1. CONVENE] THANK YOU FOR JOINING US BY LIVE OR ONLINE. AS A REMINDER, THE PURPOSE OF THIS SCHOOL BOARD MEETING IS TO CONDUCT THE BUSINESS OF THE BOARD. THAT BUSINESS IS TO MAKE DECISIONS AND POLICIES THAT REFLECT THE WISHES OF THE COMMUNITY AND PROVIDE EACH CHILD WITH THE NECESSARY SKILLS AND ATTITUDES, COMMENSURATE WITH HIS OR HER ABILITY TO BECOME AN ACTIVE CITIZENS. IN ORDER TO FAITHFULLY EXECUTE THAT PURPOSE, THE BOARD MEETS HERE AND DISCUSS VARIOUS OPINIONS ON EACH ISSUE. THAT PROCESS IS BEST SERVED WHEN ALL INVOLVE VOTE IS ON ISSUES RATHER THAN ON PERSONALITIES. SO WITH THAT, WE'LL MOVE FORWARD WITH [INAUDIBLE] WITH THE BOARD'S APPROVAL, [4. MATTERS RESERVED FOR BOARD ACTION] I'D LIKE TO MOVE ITEM 4.01 ON THE AGENDA TO THIS POINT IN THE MEETING SO THAT MS. LENSSEN CAN JOIN US AT THE BOARD TABLE. IF THERE'S NO OBJECTION, THEN IF MS. LENSSEN WOULD PLEASE JOIN ME. [BACKGROUND] IF YOU WILL PLEASE RAISE YOUR RIGHT HAND AND REPEAT AFTER ME. I, GABRIELLE LENSSEN. >> I, GABRIELLE LENSSEN. >> DO SOLEMNLY SWEAR. >> DO SOLEMNLY SWEAR. >> THAT I WILL SUPPORT THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES. >> THAT I WILL SUPPORT THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES. >> THE CONSTITUTION AND THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON. >> THE CONSTITUTION AND THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON. >> AND THE POLICIES OF FERNDALE SCHOOL DISTRICT. >> AND THE POLICIES OF FERNDALE SCHOOL DISTRICT. >> DURING MY TERM. >> DURING MY TERM. >> AND I WILL FAITHFULLY AND PARTIALLY. >> AND I WILL FAITHFULLY AND PARTIALLY. >> DISCHARGE THE RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE OFFICE. >> DISCHARGE THE RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE OFFICE. >> TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY. >> TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY. >> CONGRATULATIONS AND WELCOME TO THE BOARD. [APPLAUSE] IF NOW EVERYONE WILL PLEASE JOIN ME AS WE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG. NEXT, WE HAVE THE LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT. KATHY, IF I CAN GET YOU READ THAT, PLEASE. >> YOU CAN JUST BACK AROUND. >> WE, THE FERNDALE SCHOOL DISTRICT ACKNOWLEDGE WE ARE RESIDING ON THE TRADITIONAL, ANCESTRAL, AND UNCEDED TERRITORY OF THE LUMMI PEOPLE. THE LUMMI PEOPLE ARE THE ORIGINAL INHABITANTS OF WASHINGTON'S NORTHERNMOST COAST AND SOUTHERN BRITISH COLUMBIA. THEY LIVED IN VILLAGES THROUGHOUT THIS TERRITORY AND CONTINUE TO HAVE AN ONGOING RELATIONSHIP WITH THESE AREAS. SINCE TIME IMMEMORIAL, THEY ACCELERATED LIFE ON THEIR WATERWAYS AND ON TRADITIONAL ANCESTRAL AND UNCEDED LAND TO THEIR PEOPLE TO PERPETUATE THEIR WAY OF LIFE. WE HONOR THEIR ANCESTRAL, WE ACKNOWLEDGE THE PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE LUMMI PEOPLE AS OF THE ORIGINAL INHABITANTS OF THIS LAND. >> THANK YOU. AT THIS POINT, [2. EXECUTIVE SESSION] WE'RE GOING TO CONVENE TO A EXECUTIVE SESSION FOR APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES TO DISCUSS LITIGATION AND NO ACTION WILL BE TAKEN DURING THE EXECUTIVE SESSION. IF THE BOARD PLEASE JOIN, WE'RE GOING TO MEET IN THE ROOM AT THE HALL. I'M GOING TO GO AHEAD AND BRING US BACK INTO OPEN SESSION. THANK YOU FOR EVERYONE'S PATIENTS. NEXT ITEM ON THE AGENDA IS THE OFFICIAL ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA. AT THIS POINT, THE CHAIR WILL ENTERTAIN A MOTION TO ADOPT THE AGENDA AS PRESENTED OR ANY CHANGES TO THE AGENDA. [3. ADOPTION OF AGENDA [GC-4.7]] >> I WOULD LIKE TO PROPOSE A CHANGE TO THE AGENDA AND THAT WE CHANGE THE ORDER OF 9.01 AND 9.02, AND HAVE 9.02 COME FIRST FOLLOWED BY 9.01. [00:05:05] >> ANY OTHER? >> I JUST WANT TO ASK FOR CLARIFICATION. 9.01 IS JUST THE DISCUSSION ITEM TONIGHT, RIGHT? >> CORRECT. >> ALSO WE CAN HAVE DISCUSSION OF THE CONSENT AGENDA, RIGHT? DURING THE CONSENT AGENDA, I'D LIKE TO HAVE SOME DISCUSSION. >> CORRECT. >> OF THE SUPERINTENDENT CONSENT AGENDA? >> CORRECT. >> THANK YOU. >> ANY OTHER SUGGESTED CHANGES? IT HAS BEEN MOVED TO ADJUST THE AGENDA TO HAVE ITEM 9.02 COME BEFORE ITEM 9.01. ALL THOSE IN FAVOR, SIGNIFY BY SAYING AYE. >> AYE. >> [OVERLAPPING] AYE. >> THE AGENDA IS ADOPTED, AND NOW WE WILL VOTE ON WHETHER OR NOT WE ADOPT THE AGENDA AS A REVISED. ARE THERE ANY OTHER REVISIONS OR CHANGES TO THE AGENDA? HEARING NONE, WE'LL GO AHEAD AND VOTE. ALL THOSE IN FAVOR OF ADOPTING THE AGENDA AS REVISED, SIGNIFY BY SAYING AYE. >> [OVERLAPPING] AYE. >> ALL OPPOSED? THE REVISED AGENDA HAS BEEN ADOPTED, WHICH THEN TAKES US TO THE NEXT ITEM, ITEM 4.02, WHICH IS TO RECOGNIZE THE 2023 BUSINESSES OF THE YEAR. AND FOR THAT, I WILL TURN IT OVER TO KRISTI. >> THIS YEAR, WE ACTUALLY HAVE THREE BUSINESSES THAT I WOULD LIKE TO HONOR. CAN I PLEASE HAVE PHILIP, VICTOR, AND ADRIAN COME UP? WE HAVE THREE BUSINESSES THAT WE ARE HONORING THIS YEAR. IT WAS DURING A CHAMBER MEETING WHERE I WAS SHARING MY ENTRY PLAN AND THE VISION FOR UNIFYING OUR COMMUNITY. WE SHARED THAT WE REALLY WANTED TO HAVE A YOU BELONG CAMPAIGN. BUT OUR VISION WAS BEYOND JUST THAT, WHERE EVERY EMPLOYEE WOULD GET A SHIRT TO SAY THEY ARE PART OF SOMETHING BIGGER. THESE THREE BUSINESSES STEPPED UP AND SAID, WE WILL PUT FORTH THE MONEY TO MAKE SURE THAT HAPPENS. YOU'VE BEEN WATCHING MY UPDATES ALL YEAR. ON WEDNESDAYS WE HAVE YOU BELONG WEDNESDAYS, NOW WE HAVE A SHOP. BUT IT REALLY DID TRANSFORM HOW PEOPLE SAW THEMSELVES AS PART OF THIS DISTRICT. I THINK THEY THOUGHT IT WAS A REALLY SMALL PIECE AND IT HAD SUCH A TREMENDOUS IMPACT. WHEN I WAS HIRED BY THE BOARD, ONE OF THE PARTS THEY ASKED ME TO DO WAS PLEASE HELP UNIFY OUR COMMUNITY AND OUR DISTRICT. YOUR ACT OF GENEROSITY WAS A TREMENDOUS EFFORT TOWARDS THAT. SO WE WOULD LIKE TO HONOR ACE HARDWARE. [APPLAUSE] THANK YOU VERY MUCH. WE HAVE STARVIN' SAM'S. [APPLAUSE] AND WE HAVE BPOC BUILDING SERVICES. I'M NOT SURE ABOUT THIS, BUT I THINK IT'S THE FIRST TIME WE'VE HAD THREE BUSINESSES JOINED TOGETHER TO DO SUCH AN INCREDIBLE ACT OF KINDNESS FOR OUR SYSTEM. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. THANK YOU. [APPLAUSE] WE'RE GOING TO DO A PHOTO REAL FAST. >> THANK YOU, GENTLEMEN. WE APPRECIATE THE SUPPORT OF THE COMMUNITY FOR THE DISTRICT AND FOR THE THINGS THAT YOU HELPED US ACCOMPLISH, SO THANK YOU VERY MUCH. NEXT ITEM ON OUR AGENDA TONIGHT IS PUBLIC COMMENT. AS WE MOVE INTO THE PUBLIC COMMENT PORTION OF TONIGHT'S MEETING, I'D LIKE TO REMIND EVERYONE ABOUT PUBLIC COMMENT. PUBLIC COMMENT IS A TIME WHEN THE BOARD IS ABLE TO HEAR FROM THE COMMUNITY, [5. PUBLIC COMMENT [GC-3.3]] [00:10:03] WHAT IS ON THEIR MIND AND IMPORTANT TO THEM. IT IS NOT A TIME FOR DISCUSSION, IT'S JUST A TIME FOR THE BOARD TO LISTEN. BOARD MEMBERS MAY ASK CLARIFYING QUESTIONS AND/OR MAY DIRECT SOMEONE, MOST OFTEN THE SUPERINTENDENT TO TAKE FUTURE ACTION RELATED TO THE STATEMENTS. BUT AGAIN IT IS NOT A TIME FOR DISCUSSION. PLEASE DO NOT INTERPRET THIS AS A LACK OF INTEREST OR CONCERN, NOR IS IT A SIGNAL OF AGREEMENT OR DISAGREEMENT WITH THE SPEAKER'S REMARKS. OUR SILENCE IS RELATED TO THE RULES OF THE OPEN PUBLIC MEETING ACT THAT REQUIRE US TO ANNOUNCE ANY TOPIC ON WHICH THERE'S GOING TO BE DISCUSSION WHICH THE PUBLIC MAY HAVE AN INTEREST IN PRIOR TO THE MEETING. BY DISCUSSING SOMETHING NOT ON THE AGENDA, WE POTENTIALLY DEPRIVED AN INTERESTED COMMUNITY MEMBER TO BE PRESENT FOR THAT DISCUSSION. THOSE THAT ARE NOT COMFORTABLE IN FRONT OF THE GROUP ARE WELCOME TO CONTACT THE BOARD VIA PHONE OR EMAIL. OUR CONTACT INFORMATION IS READILY AVAILABLE ON THE DISTRICT WEBSITE. AS I'VE MENTIONED PREVIOUSLY, A REVIEW OF OUR PUBLIC COMMENT TIME SHOWED THAT WE HAD DRIFTED AWAY FROM OUR STATED POLICIES AND GUIDELINES. OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS, WE'VE BEEN WORKING TO MOVE BACK TO THE GUIDELINES OF OUR POLICY AND APPRECIATE THE COOPERATION OF THE PUBLIC IN DOING SO. AS A REMINDER, SPEAKERS WILL BE ASKED TO FIRST STATE THEIR NAME AND ADDRESS AND THE NAME OF ANY GROUP OR ORGANIZATION THEY ARE REPRESENTING PRIOR TO SPEAKING. THIS DOES NOT TAKE THE PLACE OF SIGNING IN COMPLETELY ON THE PUBLIC COMMENT SHEET, THAT IS STILL REQUIRED AS WELL. THE TIME ALLOTMENT FOR PUBLIC COMMENT IS 45 MINUTES. SPEAKERS WILL BE LIMITED TO THREE MINUTES EACH. WE HAVE BEEN GRACIOUS WITHOUT LIMIT IN THE PAST, BUT WE'LL BE HOLDING MORE FIRMLY TO IT MOVING FORWARD. EACH SPEAKER'S TIME WILL BEGIN WHEN THEY STEP TO THE PODIUM AND BEGIN TO ADDRESS THE BOARD. ANY SPEAKER WHOSE COMMENT EXCEED THE THREE-MINUTE LIMIT CAN SUBMIT THEIR ENTIRE OR REMAINING COMMENTS IN WRITING. SPEAKERS WILL BE EXPECTED TO AVOID DEFAMATORY, ABUSIVE, REPETITIVE, OBSCENE, AND/OR IRRELEVANT REMARKS. AGAIN, THE BOARD WELCOMES YOUR COMMENTS, BUT ASKS THAT YOU COMMENT IN A KIND AND RESPECTFUL WAY. FAILURE TO HEED THIS REQUIREMENT MAY RESULT IN TERMINATION OF YOUR PUBLIC COMMENT. SPEAKERS WILL ALSO BE DISCOURAGED FROM SPEAKING RELATED TO EMPLOYEE GRIEVANCES AND COLLECTIVE BARGAINING WITH EMPLOYEE UNIONS. SEPARATE CHANNELS EXIST TO ACCOMMODATE THESE CONCERNS PURSUANT TO BARGAINING AGREEMENTS AND GRIEVANCE PROCEDURES. SPEAKERS WILL ALSO BE REQUIRED TO LEAVE ALL BACKPACKS, BAGS, AND CLOSED CONTAINERS AT THEIR SEATS RATHER THAN BRINGING THEM TO THE PODIUM. IF A SPEAKER HAS ANY WRITTEN DOCUMENTS FOR THE BOARD, THEY CAN BE PLACED ON THE TABLE IN FRONT OF THE PODIUM AND WILL BE DISTRIBUTED TO THE BOARD AFTER THE MEETING. I'D ALSO LIKE TO REMIND EVERYONE THAT PER RCW 42.17A.555, I CAN NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO MAKE STATEMENTS IN SUPPORT OR OPPOSE TO ANY CANDIDACY FOR A PUBLIC OFFICE DURING THE CITIZENS COMMENT SECTION OF TONIGHT'S MEETING. WITH THAT, WE'LL GO TO OUR PUBLIC COMMENT. THE FIRST PERSON THAT I HAVE REGISTERED IS SAIDA GARZA. THEN WE'LL GO TO ALLISON, IS IT MOON? >> GO AHEAD AND TRY AGAIN. >> [INAUDIBLE]. I WANT TO SPEAK BRIEFLY TO THIS SESSION ON THE BOARD LAST MONTH'S MEETING. I WAS PLEASED THAT THE DIFFICULT TOPIC THAT THE BOARD MEMBER IMPORTANT [INAUDIBLE] ADDRESS AND SET ON ONE SIDE YOU PASSED THIS AND HAD AS FURTHER DISCUSSION. I DON'T ENVY ANY OF YOU FOR HAVING TO ENGAGE IN THAT DISCUSSION, AND I CAN APPRECIATE THE DIFFICULTY OF BEING CALLED [INAUDIBLE] IN A PUBLIC SETTING. I WAS ENCOURAGED BY THAT PARTICULAR BOARD MEMBERS [INAUDIBLE] FOR DISCUSSION. I WAS PLEASED WITH MR. CHARLES CALLED FOR CONSEQUENCES FOR INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR AND FOR [INAUDIBLE] WORSE, THE BOARD SEEMS TO COME TO THE CONCLUSION OF BEHAVIOR WAS INAPPROPRIATE. I WAS PLEASED WITH DR. ERICKSON CONFIRMED, WE DETERMINED THAT THERE WERE SOME VIOLATION. THERE WAS SOMETHING THAT NEED TO BE CORRECTED. WE DID ADMIT THAT IT WAS A VIOLATION. I WAS PLEASED WHEN MR. [INAUDIBLE] SAID,WE NEED TO HAVE SOME CONSEQUENCES, BECAUSE OTHERWISE, I DON'T KNOW IF PEOPLE WILL TAKE IT SERIOUSLY. I GREATLY APPRECIATE THE BOARD'S VOTE IN FAVOR OF ISSUE IN [INAUDIBLE] APOLOGY TO THE COMMUNITY FOR THE BOARD MEMBER SECTIONS. THAT'S AN ORDER NUMBER DISCERNING THINGS THAT HAPPEN DURING THAT DISCUSSION. DR. ERICKSON POINTED OUT THAT THE BOARD MEMBERS STRICTLY ENCOURAGED PEOPLE TO LET THEIR BEINGS BE KNOWN TO THE BOARD. HOWEVER, MANY FAILED TO RECOGNIZE THEM AND THE BOARD MEMBER DID NOT ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO BUY IN. RATHER SHE ENCOURAGE MORE [INAUDIBLE] WITH WHAT DR. ERICKSON WAS A SPECIFIC POLITICAL SLANT TO WRITE TO THE BOARD IN OPPOSITION TO THE SELECTION OF NANCY BUTTON AS A BOARD MEMBER. THE BOARD VOTED NO TO THIS PARTICULAR MEMBER [00:15:01] ACCOUNTABLE FOR VIOLATIONS OF THE BOARD'S CODES OF CONDUCT. YOU LOOK AT THE [INAUDIBLE] PERSONALITIES OF THOSE WITH WHOM YOU SERVE MUCH BETTER THAN ME PUBLICLY. WE MUST DO SOMETHING IN TRUSTING YOUR JUDGMENT. HOWEVER, [INAUDIBLE] CONCERNS ABOUT VIOLATIONS NOT BEING TAKEN SERIOUSLY IN THE ABSENCE OF CONSEQUENCES WERE WORN OUT OR MORE THAN OUR OWN QUESTION HAVE YOU SEEK CONSEQUENCES AND DESPITE HOW YOU DECLARE YOUR EXTENSION FROM THE DISCUSSION, MUCH THE SOLO AGAINST THE BOARD ISSUING AN APOLOGY TO THE COMMUNITY AND WHAT CAN ONLY BE DESCRIBED AS A DISPLAY [INAUDIBLE]. I WAS DISAPPOINTED THAT THE STUDENT MEMBERS OF THE BOARD BOTH EXPRESSED CONFUSION AS TO WHY THIS WAS BEING DISCUSSED. THEY APPARENTLY DID NOT UNDERSTAND WHY ANYONE SHOULD BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR BREAKING RULES. THIS IS NOT A CRITICISM OF STUDENTS, BUT RATHER OF A SYSTEM THAT TEACHES THEM. IT'S MORE APPROPRIATE TO CIRCLE THE WAGONS THAN TO HOLD PEOPLE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR MISDEEDS. FINALLY, WHILE I APPRECIATE THE BOARD'S DECISION TO ISSUE A PUBLIC APOLOGY TO THE COMMUNITY, I WAS DISAPPOINTED THAT THE APOLOGY WAS NOT ALSO EXTENDED TO HIS FAMILY, THE INDIVIDUAL WHO IS MOST AFFECTED BY THE BOARD MEMBER'S VIOLATION OF THE CODE OF CONDUCT. THANK YOU. >> THANK YOU, ALLISON. NEXT, WE HAVE ANDREW GUSTASON. >> ANDREW GUSTASON. 1730 LA BOUNTY. AT THE LAST MEETING, THIS BOARD DECIDED TO ISSUE AN APOLOGY TO THE PUBLIC FOR THE DISGRACEFUL AND UNETHICAL TAX POLITICAL ENGAGED IN DURING THE SELECTION OF THE DISTRICT THREE REPLACEMENT. AS THAT APOLOGY IS NOT GETTING ISSUE, I'VE TAKEN THE LIBERTY OF DRAFTING AND FACTUALLY ACCURATE VERSION FOR YOU. I'M A GENEROUS GUY. THEREFORE, YOU KNOW THE INSPECTION DISTRICT TO IT, ELECTRIC DIRECTOR OF CLINICAL, AND I'M BEING FORCED TO WRITE HIS APOLOGY IN ADVANCE OF THE JANUARY 24TH SPECIAL BOARD MEETING, AND IT MIGHT EVEN ASK FOR VICE PRESIDENT OF SCHOOL BOARD. I'M GOING TO CALL CONSPIRED KNOWN UNION ACTIVISTS, I'M PROGRESSIVE [INAUDIBLE] FACEBOOK GROUP TO SOLICIT NEGATIVE EMAILS AGAINST ONE OF THE SEVEN APPLICANTS FOR THE OPEN SCHOOL BOARDS MEETING. 500 OF THOSE EMAILS TO BE SENT INTO. >> POINT OF ORDER PLEASE? IN PUBLIC COMMENT, IS IT APPROPRIATE OR UNLAWFUL TO SPEAK ON BEHALF OF SOMEBODY ELSE WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION? >> GOOD QUESTION. I DON'T KNOW THE ANSWER TO THE TOP OF MY HEAD. >> BECAUSE IT DOES SOUND LIKE MR. HUTCHINSON IS BREATHING. HE IS SAYING I WROTE FOR I SHOULDN'T HAVE WRITTEN. IF WE CAN LOOK INTO THAT, I WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH IT AND READING IT NEXT MEETING IS LAWFUL. BUT IT DOESN'T SIT WELL AS FAR AS SAYING THAT I SAID. >> TO BE CLEAR, I'M OFFERING A DRAFT FOR YOU GUYS TO REVIEW. >> TO BE CLEAR I'M GOING TO HAVE A DISCUSSION THE BOARD PERSONALLY. >> I'M TRYING TO CLARIFY WHAT INFORMATION PROBABLY MISSING BECAUSE YOU HAVEN'T HEARD THE REST OF IT YET. >> REMARKS BE ADDRESSED TO ME. >> I APOLOGIZE. >> NO PROBLEM. CLARIFICATION FROM YOU ANDREW, HOW DID YOU START OUT HERE? >> YES. I STARTED OFF BY SAYING THAT I'VE TAKEN THE LIBERTY OF PUTTING A DRAFT TOGETHER FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION. I KNOW YOU'RE OVERWORKED, OVERWHELMED, SO I THOUGHT WHY NOT DRAFT THIS UP FOR YOU THEN YOU GUYS CAN WORKSHOP AND THEY WILL ACTUALLY HAVE BEEN FARTHER DOWN THE ROAD TO SUBMITTING AN APOLOGY TO THE PUBLIC. >> I APPRECIATE YOUR ASSUMPTION THAT I'M OVERWORKED AND OVERWHELMED. THAT'S NOT THE CASE. THANK YOU. I GUESS MY BEST COURSE OF ACTION AT THIS POINT IS TO HAVE THE BOARD WEIGH IN ON THIS, AS TO COMFORT LEVEL WITH BEING AS PHARMACIST'S COMMENT OR DIRECTION COMMENT. >> [INAUDIBLE] THIS IS COMMON TO SEE GUARANTEE DIRECTED LIKE THIS. >> TRUE. MY SENSITIVITY, BUT THERE'S A LOT OF EVERYBODY'S OPINION THAT ARE COMING INTO PLAY AND I TEND TO END UP WITH THE LEGAL BURDEN TO THOSE, SO MY APOLOGIES THAT'S AWARENESS. I GUESS AT THIS POINT I WILL DIVERSITY OR AS TO WHETHER OR NOT WE ALLOWED TO SEE IN VIDEO OR WE DO INTERRUPT AND ASK. >> FOR THIS COMMENT TO BE SUBMITTED. ARE YOU ALL READY? >> ANY COMMENT CANVAS ARRANGEMENTS, [00:20:07] BUT THEY'RE NOT IN WHO CHOOSE TO DO THAT. >> I CAN SAY THAT YOU HAVE MORE CODE HERE. I CAN READ THIS WHOLE THING. THE FIRST PRESENT CONTEXT FROM ME AND NOT IN THE CONTEXT OF THE LETTER DRAFTED FROM LINDA. WOULD YOU PREFER THAT? >> NOW THAT PROBABLY. >> SURE. >> ELIMINATE THE BOARD? >> I JUST NEED MY TIME TO THAT PERSON. LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU'RE READY. >> THANK YOU. LET'S KICK THIS OFF AGAIN WITH IT AND APOLOGIES STILL NEEDED FROM THIS SCHOOL BOARD. I'VE TAKEN THE LIBERTY OF PUTTING SOME BONES TOGETHER FOR YOU GUYS TO WORK FROM AND IT GOES SOMETHING LIKE THIS. THE DIRECTOR AND QUESTIONABLE IN A COOL ROOM SENDING DISTRICT TO MEANS TO BE A PART OF THE APOLOGY IN ADVANCE OF THE 24TH MEETING ON JANUARY SPECIAL BOARD MEETING AND IN HER CAPACITY AS THE BOARD PRESIDENT I AM STATING THAT POLITICAL DIDN'T WORK WITH CONSPIRED WITH KNOWN UNION ACTIVISTS THE BURDEN OF PROGRESSIVE FACEBOOK GROUP AND SOLICITED NEGATIVE EMAILS IN CASE ONE OF THE SEVEN HAPPENINGS, BUT THE BOARD SEAT, SHE THEN DIRECTED THOSE EMAILS TO THE BOARD MEMBERS. THEY ARRIVE IN YOUR INBOXES WRITING FOR THAT FOR THREE MEETINGS TO MAKE SURE THAT THEIR FELLOW BOARD MEMBERS REALLY RANDOM. SHE REQUESTED A MEETING RIGHT AFTER RECESS, RIGHT AFTER THE MEETING STARTED. SHE THEN REPRESENTED THOSE EMAILS TO OTHER PARTNERS AS ANYBODY COMING ON GAMBLING WHEN QUESTIONED HARASSING THOSE EMAILS. SHE JUST PERSONALLY DRESS DOWN WITH HER FELLOW BOARD MEMBERS, EACH CHILD IN THE PUBLIC MEETING SESSION. NOW, THEN SHE WENT ON TO VIOLATED AND GOOD-FAITH GESTURE OF HER TELEPHONE NUMBER, PICKY WITH PIANO TO MAKE THE CASE TO THE APPLICANTS IN WHICH THEY SUPPORTED. AFTER PICKING HER CASE FOR WHY THE ANSWER YOU SHOULD GET TO THE INTERVIEWS. MELINDA CHOSE NOT TO DO THAT AND INSTEAD DECIDED TO USE THE AGONIST EMAILS THAT SHE HAD SOLICITED TO ATTACK THE PAYMENTS LATER. RETIRED SCHOOL TEACHER, A DISTRICT, YOUR RESIDENT, TAXPAYER MAN'S FUN IN DOING ALL THIS YOU VIOLATED SOMEHOW MANAGED BY THE OLD AND THE NEW CODE OF CONDUCT FOR THE BOARD. SHE INTENTIONALLY MISLED FELLOW BOARD MEMBERS WHO CRITICIZED THE PELLET BOARD MEMBER BUBBLY, SHE FAILED TO PROTECT THE INTEGRITY AND POSITIVE IMAGE OF THE BOARD OF THE DISTRICT, SHOULD BE BARRIERS TO THE BOARD AND THE DISTRICT. SHE COMPROMISE THE INTEGRITY OF LEGAL STANDING ON THE BOARD OF THE DISTRICT WHO'S HOLDING A MULTIPLE EPICS TOOK PLACE IN A LAWSUIT WITH HER ACTIONS ARE MOST SHE PUSHED THE BOARD THAT ACTUALLY OFFICIALLY ON FALSE INFORMATION, THUS EXPANDING STILL OTHER SESSIONS BEYOND THE BORDER INTO THE LARGER SECTION OF THE ENTIRE DISTRICT AND THE TAXPAYERS WHO FUNDED IT. THE RESULTING OFFICIAL BOARD ACTION APPLY THE IMPRIMATUR OR LEGITIMACY TO THE SLENDERNESS EMAILS LEADING PUBLIC TO BELIEVE THAT'S TRUE ENOUGH FOR THEM TO ACT ON THOSE EMAILS, THEREBY EXPANDING THE NANCY, THE ORANGES PHILOSOPHY SUPPORTS IT, BUT ALSO TO INCLUDE AT MINIMUM, IMAGINABLE DAMAGE TO HER REPUTATION AND FUTURE EARNINGS POTENTIAL. TRULY, THE ONLY REASONS YOU WANT TO KICK OFF THE BOARD THAT NIGHT IS DUE TO THE COMMUNISTS AND FORGIVENESS OF THE SCENE TO BOARD MEMBERS WHOSE TRUST SHE VIOLATED. HOWEVER, IS THAT SO HERE'S THE APOLOGY. NO, IT WASN'T HER IDEAL THIS WAS STEVEN PINKER'S IDEA. THEY THOUGHT TO STEP IN FRONT OF THE VOID AND TAKE ONE FOR THE WHOLE TEAM. BUT SHE DID NOT ARGUE THAT IF SHE DID NOT AGREE THAT SHE SHOULD APOLOGIZE AND ACTUALLY VOTED AGAINST THE APOLOGY. THAT'S THE DRAFT. YOU GUYS TO WORKSHOP THAT MAYBE GET A STUDY SESSION TOGETHER. YOU GUYS MIGHT WANT TO POST WHATEVER IT IS RIGHT NEXT TO THE RETRACTED ENDORSEMENT OF OUR ROLE IS FROM A COUPLE OF YEARS THOSE DOESN'T MATCH UP GOOD TOGETHER. FINALLY, WHERE'S THE BUDGET? ON ANOTHER TOPIC WHERE IS THE 2023, 2024 BUDGET IT'S JUNE. YOU GUYS WHERE IT IS, THE F-195 WHERE IT'S CONSISTENT BUDGET. THOSE WE SHALL WE LOOK AT THOSE RIGHT NOW. >> THANK YOU, ANDREW. NEXT ON TONIGHT'S PUBLIC COMMENT IS TOM PHONE. >> GOOD EVENING MY NAME IS TOM PHONE. IS THE EXISTING THE DOWN BOARD. THE CURRENT CATCHPHRASE THAT DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION WAS REALLY GOOD. WE GO TO SEE IN MANY SCHOOL DISTRICTS, INCLUDING JORDAN, THERE IS ANYTHING WITH A DIVERSIFIED, EQUITABLE, AND INCLUSIVE CONSIDERING THE STATE POLICY OR FORCING PROPERTY OWNERS TO PAY FOR ONLY ONE BRANDED SCHOOL. THAT IS, ACCORDING TO DOCTOR CHRISTIAN WOMAN IN 2021 ARTICLE ON EDUCATIONAL QUALITY. IT IS MY TOPIC OF DISCUSSION TONIGHT. PUBLIC SCHOOL ON ANOMALY ON THE QUESTION OF HOW ARE THE TASKS RESERVED FOR EDUCATION, WHICH IS SOMETIMES GREATER THAN 40%. WATCHING THIS VIDEO APPROVES MANY TIMES OF INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS, DOCTOR MOGUL GOING TO BELIEVE THAT TASK VINEGAR SHOULD HAVE THE OPTION TO SEND THEIR TAX PAYMENTS TO DISPOSE OF THEIR CHOICE, WHETHER THEY ARE PUBLIC, PRIVATE, OR RELIGIOUS, OR EVEN INTO THROUGH THE WHOLE SCHOOL FUNDS. [00:25:03] WHY NOT? HE ASKED THIS IS EDUCATIONAL EQUALITY FOR ALL IN CONTINUOUS RIGHT NOW, PROBABLY OWNERS TO SEND THEIR CHILDREN TO NON-STATE SCHOOLS MUST PAY PRICE FOR THEIR KID'S EDUCATION. THIS IS OPPRESSIVE AND IT'S FLAT WRONG, IT'S MORALLY AND SOCIALLY UNJUST. THE CURRENT SYSTEM ALSO DISCRIMINATES AGAINST POOR STUDENTS WHO WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND THE SCHOOL OF THEIR CHOICE BUT ARE UNABLE TO. A YEAR AGO I MENTIONED THIS EXACT PROBLEM IN MY SPEECH WHEN I SAID, MANY OF THESE BLACK FAMILIES HAVE IS STUCK IN WONDERFUL FOR FORMING SCHOOLS IN THE LAST VERSION OF BLACK ANNOTATIONS FOR GENERATIONS, DOCTOR MOGUL SAID THAT IN ORDER TO AVOID USING SAFE FOR SUPPORTING THE RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS, THE MONEY WOULD COME FROM PROPERTY OWNERS WHO WOULD CHOOSE TO DIRECT THEIR RESPECTIVE ATTACHES DIRECTLY TO THE SCHOOL OF THEIR CHOICE. THIS EFFICIENT PROCESS WOULD ALSO HELP REDUCE THE ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS AT THE STATE LEVEL. ANOTHER ADVANTAGE TO THIS EDUCATIONAL INEQUALITY PLAN ON IS THAT IT PROMOTES COMPETITION AMONG ALL SCHOOLS. ANTITRUST LAW AT THE FEDERAL LEVEL THAT ACCORDING TO THE US CHAMBER OF COMMERCE WEBSITE ENSURE, WE CALL COMPETITION THRIVES, PROVIDING CONSUMERS WITH LOWER PRICES AND HIGHER QUALITY PRODUCTS AND SERVICES. WHY DON'T WE HAVE EDUCATION AND TRUST LAWS THAT WOULD HELP? SHE IS PAYING BENEFITS FOR OUR CHILDREN IN THE PAST PAYMENT. IN THE END, DOCTOR [INAUDIBLE] CONCLUDES, TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION IS ONE BIG SIGN OF AN OVERPROOF OF AN OPPRESSIVE STATE. BUT THIS IS A FRACTION WE CAN QUICKLY CHANGE. >> THANK YOU. >> IT'S TIME TO TALK TO OUR PEOPLE [OVERLAPPING] CORRECTLY TO PRIMITIVE-BASED SYSTEM. >> THANK YOU. >> THANK YOU. >> NEXT WE HAVE NANCY BUTTON. >> GOOD EVENING NANCY BUTTON, VERIFIABLE AND RABBITS IN ROME IN 1980 AND NATIONAL SALES COMMISSIONS LILIES STAY WITH HER EDUCATION AFTER 18 MONTHS AND CAN BE PRESENTED THEIR FINDINGS IN A REPORT TITLED ANIMATION AWARENESS. THE CONCLUSION OF THE CONDITION WAS AN UNFRIENDLY FOREIGN POWER HAD ATTEMPTED TO IMPOSE ON AMERICA THE MEDIOCRE EDUCATIONAL PERFORMANCE THAT EXISTS TODAY. WE MIGHT WELL HAVE VIEWED IT AS AN ACT OF WAR. IT IS NOW MORE THAN 40 YEARS LATER AND AFTER DECADES OF EDUCATIONAL REFORMS, MANY OF WHICH I SAW COMING TO GO OVER MY 20 YEARS OF TEACHING THIS DISTRICT. OUR STUDENTS ARE WORSE OFF NOW THAN THEY WERE THEN. ACCORDING TO THE 2021, 2022 DEAD DATA, ONLY 47% OF THOSE STUDENTS MET GRADE LEVEL EXPECTATIONS AND ENGLISH LANGUAGE, THERE WAS ONLY 34% IN MATH AND 44% IN SCIENCE. WITH THE HIRING OF A NEW SUPERINTENDENT ANY OUTSTANDING JOB SHIFT IS DONE IN VISITING EVERY CLASSROOM IN OUR DISTRICT, SPREADING MESSAGE, YOU BELONG TO ALL. WE HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO ACTUALLY MAKE THE CHANGES. GREEN BELT THEMSELVES TO OUR STUDENTS, A SENSE OF BELONGING IS IT A GOOD START. HOWEVER, WE NEED TO FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGE HOW WE REACH AND TEACH ALL OF OUR STUDENTS. THE MODEL ITSELF LEADS TO THE QUESTION, OVERLAYING REFORMS ON TOP OF THE SYSTEM. DESIGNED FOR ANOTHER ERA IS NOT WORKING. NO LONGER DOES OUR SOCIETY AND CULTURE TO FACTORY WORKERS. WE NEED FINGERS AND PROBLEM-SOLVERS. AS A TEACHER IN OUR DISTRICT, I FELT BOTH HOPE AND FRUSTRATION. HOPE CAME FROM MULTIPLE STUDENTS AND TEACHERS WHO WERE FULLY ENGAGED. THE FRUSTRATION CAME FROM THE LACK OF RIGOR AND ACHIEVEMENT IN ORDER FOR STUDENTS TO PROGRESS THROUGH THE GRADE ASKING STUDENTS TO INTEGRATE TO THE NEXT WITHOUT ANOTHER COLUMN SHE EXPECTATIONS OF THE PREVIOUS GRADE COMPOUNDED WITH THE PROBLEM OVER THE YEARS THAT THE MODEL NEEDS FIXING. FROM THAT REPORT, I QUOTE, OUR SCHOOLS NEED TO TEACH INTELLECTUAL, MORAL, AND SPIRITUAL STRANDS THAT OUR PEOPLE, WHICH KNITTED TOGETHER THE VERY FABRIC OF OUR SOCIETY. THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES, NEEDED TO KNOW THAT INDIVIDUALS IN OUR SOCIETIES WHO DO NOT POSSESS THE LEVELS OF SKILL, LITERACY, AND TRAINING, THE CENTRAL TO THIS SIMPLE ERROR WILL BE EFFECTIVELY DISENFRANCHISED, NOT SIMPLY A MATERIAL REWARDS THAT ACCOMPANY, COMPETENT, [00:30:04] PERFORMANCE, BUT ALSO FROM A CHANCE TO PARTICIPATE FULLY IN OUR NATIONAL LIFE. A HIGH LEVEL OF SHARED EDUCATION IS ESSENTIAL TO THE FREE, DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY AND TO THE FOSTERING OF COMMON CULTURE, ESPECIALLY IN A COUNTRY CRISIS OF PLURALISM AND INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM. THIS IS AS TRUE TODAY AS IT WAS BACK IN THE '80S. I KNOW WHAT THE DOOR WILL BE OPEN TO THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX. >> THANK YOU, NANCY. >> I WILL LEAVE THE REST OF THIS WITH YOU, THANK YOU. >> YOU CAN LEAVE ON THE TABLE IF YOU ARE DONE. >> YES. >> THAT BRINGS US TO THE END OF OUR PUBLIC COMMENT SECTION OF OUR MEETING. AS ALWAYS, IF ANYONE HAS ANYTHING THAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH THE BOARD, OUR CONTACT INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE ON THE WEBSITE; PHONE NUMBERS, EMAIL, ETC. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO USE THAT. NEXT ITEM ON THE AGENDA TONIGHT IS REPORT ON THE CAPITAL BONDS PROJECT. FOR THAT, I WILL TURN IT OVER TO MARK, [6. FOCUS ON DISTRICT OPERATIONS] AND HAPPY TO HAVE RILEY WITH US TONIGHT FOR A BOND OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE REPORT. >> DO YOU WANT TO SIT AT THE TABLE? >> I CAN IF YOU LIKE. >> YEAH, GO AHEAD. RILEY, DO YOU WANT TO SIT HERE AT THE TABLE? YEAH, WE'RE GOING TO LET YOU SIT. >> [NOISE] I'LL JUST GO DOWN THE REPORT AND THEN WE'LL DISCUSS WHATEVER YOU GUYS WOULD LIKE IT. PROBABLY IT LOOKS FAIRLY SIMILAR TO PREVIOUS REPORTS, GENERALLY SPEAKING BIG TOPIC SCHEDULE-WISE. OBVIOUSLY THE MAJOR OPENING, THE ATHLETIC VEIN HAPPENED SINCE OUR LAST REPORT. ALL KNOWLEDGE SUCCESS. EVERYBODY HAS SEEN THAT JOY AT STUDENTS FACULTY AND OBVIOUSLY THERE'S A NEW HOME, FEEL AND GET USED TO SOME STUFF. OBVIOUSLY THERE'S STILL SOME LOOSE ENDS THAT SHOULD BE BUTTONED UP THE SUMMER. BUT THAT WAS A MAJOR MILESTONE ACHIEVED. THE NEXT ONE HEADING INTO THE FALL WILL BE THE STADIUM AND FIELDS. THEN HEADING TOWARDS FINAL COMPLETION IN THIS YEAR. THERE WAS A LITTLE BIT OF DISCUSSION OVER THE PAST FIVE MONTHS OR SO ABOUT THE POTENTIAL OF OPENING THE CTE WEIGHING A LITTLE BIT EARLY, MID-SEMESTER. THERE MAY STILL BE SOME OPPORTUNITIES OPENING, SOME PIECES OF IT. BUT OVERALL DISCUSSION AND AGREEMENT WAS WITH THE AMOUNT OF STAFF THAT HAS TO MOVE OVER AND GET SET UP AND ADJUSTED FOR CLASSES OR TAKE PLACE OVER THERE EFFICIENTLY, PROBABLY BEST TO WAIT UNTIL WINTER BREAK SEMESTER, YEAH WINTER BREAK. THE PLAINTIFFS TO POTENTIALLY OPENS AND PASSING SPACES THE MIDDLE, BUT IN THE SHOP SPACE IS UP AFTER WINTER BREAK. BUT OTHERWISE, THERE'S A COUPLE OF REPORTS THAT I CAN LIKE WALK DOWN ANYTHING. AGAIN, FEEL FREE TO STOP ME ANYTIME AND [NOISE] ANYTHING. WE ARE OVER $100 MILLION MARK AT THE HIGH SCHOOL. OVER 8% SPENT OR 8% COMPLETE MORE THAN 8% AND 8% SPENT WHICH IS GOOD, REDUCES THE AMOUNT OF UNKNOWN THAT WE HAVE LEFT. AS WE CONTINUE FORWARD. LOOKING AT THE BALANCE OF THE CONTINGENCY ALLOWANCE FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL, THERE IS A NEGATIVE BALANCE CURRENTLY IN THE OWNER'S RISK COMPONENT, LARGELY DUE TO SOME OF THE ALTERNATIVES THAT WERE ACCEPTED. NOT NECESSARILY UNFORESEEN THINGS ON THE PROJECTS. THERE'S ABOUT 6% LEFT ON THE GCCM SIDE, WHICH IS ESSENTIALLY MONEY HELD BY CORNERSTONE NOT STILL APPROVED BY THE DISTRICT AND THEN 11.5% WORKING CATEGORY BECAUSE ESSENTIALLY SO POLES THAT ARE COVERED CURRENTLY. GROUPING ALL THOSE TOGETHER, THERE'S ABOUT AN $8,000 BALANCE ON THE CONTRACTOR SIDE. THE CONTINGENCY, WHICH SEEMS PRETTY TIGHT ON FACE VALUE. [00:35:03] BUT KEEP IN MIND HERE IS ABOUT $2.5 MILLION. THAT'S STILL CONSIDERED IN THE WRONG CATEGORY, A ROUGH ORDER OF MAGNITUDE CATEGORY. THAT'S COOL. HOPEFULLY SOME SAVINGS. I BELIEVE IT WAS CLOSE TO FOUR LAST REPORT. ABOUT 1.5 MILLION COME OUT. I DON'T HAVE THE REPORT FROM LAST TWO MONTHS AGO, BUT THERE WAS JUST IN THE LAST MONTH FROM PULLING SOME OF THOSE WRONG VALUES OUT TOO HARD COSTS WAS ACTUALLY A NET SAVINGS THAT WENT BACK INTO THE HUNDREDS. STILL HOPING FOR SOME SAVINGS ON THAT $2.5 BILLION ALLOTMENT AS WE FINALIZED NUMBERS. THEN THE OTHER THING OF NOTE IS THAT IS JUST THE CONTRACTOR HEALTH CONTINUING TO SEE MY KIDS. THERE'S ADDITIONAL CONTINGENCY HELP SEPARATE OUTSIDE OF CORNERSTONES PER VIEW, IF YOU WILL, OR OUTSIDE OF THEIR UMBRELLA OF COURAGE EPISODE. ESSENTIALLY WE HAVE 80,000 LEFT INSIDE, ROUGHLY 2 MILLION OUTSIDE. THERE'S ABOUT 2 MILLION IS A LITTLE BIT LEFT AS WE HEAD DOWN IN THE LAST $25 MILLION, THE BOARD THAT NEEDS TO GET FINISHED. THE OTHER MAJOR ITEM WARRANT FURTHER CONVERSATION. IT'S ABOUT PAC. OBVIOUSLY, THERE'S SOME DISCUSSION LAST TIME. KEEP WANTING TO SAY LAST QUARTER, BUT IT WAS FIVE MONTHS AGO. WHAT THEN ABOUT THE SCOPE OF THE PACK BOTH PROMISE A LOT, BUT IT WASN'T THE BOND. HOW THAT WAS GOING TO BE FUNDED. I WAS ABLE TO PULL AN OLD REPORT THAT WE GOT BACK IN NOVEMBER THAT I ATTACHED TO THE PACKET WHICH BREAKS DOWN. HOW THE CONTINUOUSLY BY KIDS ARE LOOKING AS A BACKPLANE, HOW THE SCOPE OF THE PACK WORK, THE NECESSARILY OF THE SEISMIC UPGRADES AS WELL AS THE COMMITMENTS, PROMISES, AND ANTICIPATION PREFERRED ITEMS IF YOU WILL, IN THE BOTTOM, HOW THAT MONEY HAD ALL GROUPS TOGETHER TO BE ABLE TO COVER THAT COST. WE WERE HOPING AND ASKING FOR AN UPDATED NUMBERS FROM FEBRUARY BECAUSE THESE ARE A LITTLE OUTDATED NOW AS THE SCOPE SPEND TO REFINE THE MAY WOULD GET BETTER NUMBERS BACK OR CORNERSTONES. CISG IS TRYING TO GET SOME BETTER NUMBER BACK FROM CORNERSTONE AND THE SUBS. WE'RE HOPING TO GET AN UPDATED VERSION OF THIS T GUYS. ANTICIPATING WILL HAVE ONE AT OUR NEXT MEETING, WHICH I'M SURE MARK WILL BE PATENTED BRAIN DOES FOR ME NEXT MONTH. BUT I DIDN'T WANT TO SAY THIS AND I'M GOING TO SAY ANYWAY, THE INTENT AND THE ANTICIPATION IS THAT WE WILL HAVE ENOUGH MONEY WITHIN THE BOND, COVER ALL OF THE NECESSARY WORK, ALL OF THE NEEDED WORK, SAFETY NEEDED, BUT ALL THE NEEDED AND ALL OF THE PREFERRED WORK AT UNPACK THAT ESSENTIALLY BRING THAT UP TO YOU. I DON'T KNOW IF IT'LL BE ALL THE WAY TO THE STANDARD OF THE NEW SCHOOL BECAUSE IT IS STILL AN OLD BUILDING, BUT IT'LL BE A SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVED STANDARD AND MEET WITH FULFILLMENT OF THE BOND PROBLEMS. THAT'S HOW WE WILL KEEP BONDS ESG AND GET THOSE NUMBERS IN AND UPDATE YOU GUYS ON THAT. AS IT PROCEEDS. COUPLE OF OTHER SMALL ITEMS OF NOTES, CISG DOES IS PROVIDING AUDIT SUPPORT FOR ANY OF THE BOND BECAUSE THEY ARE THE FIRST LAYER OF APPROVAL, SO THEY AREN'T PROVIDING AUDIT SUPPORT FOR THE DISTRICT. SHOULD THERE BE ANY TYPE OF STATE REQUIREMENTS REGARDING BOND FUNDING SO THAT SHOULD BE A LITTLE BIT OF A REPRIEVE. A LITTLE BIT OF A COMFORT, I GUESS, TO THE BOARD TO KNOW THAT THEY'LL SUPPORT THAT MOVING FORWARD. THEY ALSO WORKED WITH JAMIE AND THE MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT TO PUT TOGETHER A MAINTENANCE PLAN, HAVE A DATABASE SCHEDULE, NOT ONLY FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL AND THE NEW FACILITY IS LITTLE NEED THEIR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, BUT ALSO GO INTO THE BUILDING AND [00:40:02] ESSENTIALLY BUILDING SCHEDULES SO THEY'RE NOT THERE ANYMORE. PROACTIVE MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE RATHER THAN A FIRE DRILL, REACTIONARY MAINTENANCE. IN MORE CASES THAN NOT, UNFORTUNATELY IN THE PAST FOR SOME OF THE FACILITIES. THAT'S AN ONGOING PROCESS. WE SEE THAT BY THE TIME, BY THE END OF THE YEAR ON. THAT'S ESSENTIALLY THE BUDGET PIECE. THEN AS FAR AS PUBLIC COMMUNICATION AND TRANSPARENCY, THE BOTTOM OF DAYS CONTINUED TO BE A GOOD. I'M AWARE OF EVERYTHING THAT'S GOING ON, BUT I STILL ENJOY LOOKING AT EARLY. WE'RE UP TO 200, ONE OF OUR MEMBERS CAME TO OUR MEETING LAST WEEK AND HE MENTIONED WE'RE UP TO LIKE 210 STRAIGHT YEARS OF EVERY WEEK GETTING AN UPDATE. I THINK THAT'S BEEN A GREAT ADDITION AND SOMETHING THAT KEEPING THE FUTURE. YOU KNOW WHETHER IT'D BE LONG OR SOMETHING ELSE. I THINK THOSE HAVE BEEN INFORMATIVE. THANKFULLY, THE PHASING MAP, WE'RE HITTING ALL THE DATES, SO THAT DOESN'T MEAN THE CHANGE THAT'S BEEN THE SAME MAP FOR TWO YEARS NOW. SO I THINK THAT'S BEEN GOOD. IT SEEMS THAT THE WAYFINDING, AND SIGNAGE AT THE SCHOOL HAS IT'S CHANGE, IT'S BEEN GOOD. I KNOW THERE'S SOME WAYFINDING ISSUES, BUT THERE'S JUST SOME CONCERNS WITH HAVING EVERYBODY COMING IN THROUGH THE STEP SIZE OF THE GYM AND STUFF. I AM EXCITED TO SEE PAVEMENT DOWN AND HAVING USE OF THAT MAIN ENTRY FOR THE COMING SCHOOL YEAR. I TOUCHED ON THE OPENING OF THE ACADEMIC [INAUDIBLE] I ATTENDED THE OPEN HOUSE. WE'VE SEEN EQUALLY AS ATTENDED AS WELL THE FAREWELL DOMAIN. SO I CAN GO TO THE GREAT EVENTS OF THE COMMUNITY, AS WELL AS THE STUDENTS AND FAMILY AND FACULTY GOT [INAUDIBLE] FROM STUDENTS FROM ONE OF OUR MEETINGS, WHICH WAS GOOD. WE'VE SEEN TO BE FOCUSED ON MONEY AND SCHEDULE, AND HOW THINGS ARE GOING TOGETHER, AND MAKING SURE THAT THEY'RE DONE RIGHT. IT'S GOOD TO GET AN UPDATE FROM THE STUDENTS. STUDENTS THAT ARE MEETING AND SEE HOW THEY'RE FEELING. ABOUT THE SPACE, I THINK THE GENERAL CONSENSUS IT'S A NEW SPACE AND THEY'RE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WAYS TO MAKE IT THEIR HOME, RIGHT? WHICH IS GREAT. I MEAN, IF THAT'S THE PROBLEM, THAT'S A GOOD PROBLEM TO HAVE, RIGHT? THEY'RE NOT WORRIED ABOUT BEING SAFE. YOU'RE NOT WORRIED ABOUT IT. THEY'RE NOT WORRIED ABOUT RATS AND NAMES AND EVERYTHING ELSE. >> ANTS. >> ANTS, SO WELL WE'D LOVE TO FIGURE WAYS, AND HELP TO MAKE THE NEW BUILDING, HOME FOR THE STUDENTS. IT WAS ALL IN ALL AGREED. UPDATE FROM THAT DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE FOR US TO GET ZONE. THE SAFETY, SECURITY CRITICAL MAINTENANCE COMPONENTS IS ESSENTIALLY ALL ABOUT WRAPPED UP. THERE'S A COUPLE OF LITTLE DC CONTROLLERS ITEMS LEFT COMPLETE OR THE SUMMER AND A LITTLE BIT OF WORK TO THE [INAUDIBLE] AND NOT PURCHASING COMPLETE. I THINK TICKETS STILL TRACKING MADE IT THERE WAS AN ALTERNATIVE ACCEPTED BUT THAT IS STILL TRACKING TO BE UNDER BUDGET FOR THE ALLOTTED AMOUNT OF THE BOND. AND THAT WORKED, WOULD BE NINE PLUS PERCENT OF THE WAY. THE FOLLOW-UP FROM LAST MEETING. YOU GUYS HAD ASKED ABOUT OUR TIMELINE AND THE FUTURE RECOMMENDATIONS THROUGH A BOND OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE. MY ANTICIPATION OF THE REST OF THE BOC FOLKS IS EARLY THAN SECOND QUARTER, BASICALLY COMPLETION PLUS A COUPLE OF MONTHS TO LET [00:45:03] THE FINANCIAL STUFF FULLY COME THROUGH, AND FEEL COMFORTABLE DISSOLVING THEY'RE RELEASING OR WHATEVER THE WORD IS TO BE DONE, BUT I WOULD ANTICIPATE PROBABLY NOT APRIL, MAY OF 2024. TIMELINE IS PROBABLY WHEN WE WOULD ESSENTIALLY WRAP UP OUR WORK. WE DON'T PLANNING ON INCLUDING AN UPDATE OF OUR BYLAWS, AND THE GC5 FOR US, REVISING THAT TO FIT WHAT WE'VE ALL EXPERIENCED THE PAST FOUR YEARS. TURN THAT BACK TO YOU GUYS TO ESSENTIALLY HAND OFF TO ANOTHER GROUP. SHOULD IT BE WARRANTED. THEN AS FAR AS THE FUTURE GOES, I FEEL THAT THE VALUE IN HAVING AN OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE, REGARDLESS, I DEFINITELY SEE VALUE. PROCEED THE DISTRICT GOING FORWARD WITH ANY A $100 BILLION PLUS BONDS IN THE NEAR FUTURE ANYTIME SOON. BUT DEFINITELY WITH BIGGER PROJECTS. IF THERE'S MULTIPLE PROJECTS. I THINK [NOISE] DC MODEL IS IT [INAUDIBLE] WELL WITH AN OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE BECAUSE THAT'S A LITTLE BIT MORE OF A COLLABORATIVE APPROACH AND YOU'RE ABLE TO PAY THINGS BACK. RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE COMMITTEE TO THE CONTRACTOR AND IT LENDS ITSELF BETTER IN THAT TYPE OF CONTRACT VERSUS A TRADITIONAL DESIGN BUILD MODEL. FROM OUR PERSPECTIVE, WE WOULD RECOMMEND USING AN OVERSIGHT FIT IN THE FUTURE FOR ANY MAJOR WORK THAT ARE FALLING PASSAGE. WE'RE BACK HOME. >> WHATEVER ANSWERS YOU GOT. [LAUGHTER] >> I THINK MY FAVORITE WORDS WHEN I STARTED SPEAKING HERE IS HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE, LOOK BACK THEN, AS THE BOND WAS BEING FORMED AND IT WAS LIKE THE GROUP IS TRYING TO LEAD YOU TO ANSWER AROUND EACH OTHER. WE'LL SAY OKAY, WHAT WILL YOU SAY, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING, ANSWERS WERE. BUT LOOKING BACK AT WHERE YOU STAND FOR IN YOUR COMMUNITY? I CAN SAY THAT THE BANKING FIRM TO END UP THE WAY YOU LOOK AT IT. CERTAINLY WAITING ON THE BOARD AND IT'S CAPACITY, AND WE'RE LOOKING AT WHAT ISN'T DONE, AND SOME THE UNFORESEEN EXIT INCLUDING THAT TIME INFLATION, AND SO MUCH CHANGE ISSUES TO BE ABLE TO SIT HERE AND TELL US THAT WE'RE STILL ON SCHEDULE, HAS CHANGED THAT PLAN AND TURNOVER CHART IN TWO YEARS. WE'VE BEEN ABLE TO KEEP IT UNDER BUDGET, AS WELL AS TAKING ON SOME OF THE CONTINGENCIES AND SOME OF THE OTHER ALTERNATIVES THAT YOU'D HOPE TO ADD. THAT'S A LITTLE STATEMENT TO THE WHOLE PROCESS. AGAIN. >> [INAUDIBLE]. AS WE GET A LITTLE BIT CLOSER TO THE END THAN WE WERE AT THE BEGINNING, WE STILL GOT A LOT OF WORK YET TO DO, BUT AS WE'RE STARTING TO AT LEAST TALKING ABOUT IT AND HOW TO WIND DOWN AND READ THING A LITTLE BIT BETTER, YOU START REFLECTING. AND I THINK, A COUPLE OF YOUR COMMENTS REALLY HIT HOME IN THAT. ANYTIME YOU BRING A WHOLE BUNCH OF NEW PEOPLE TOGETHER AND FORM A GROUP, THERE'S SOME AWKWARDNESS, AND IT TAKES MORE THAN HALF TO FORM A WORKING RELATIONSHIP, AND I DON'T THINK THIS WAS ANY DIFFERENT, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE WHOLE CONTEXT, THE WHOLE REASON FOR BEING IS TO PROVIDE OVERSIGHT AND TRANSPARENCY AND MAKING SURE THAT WE'RE DOING OUR JOB. SO IT TOOK A MINUTE TO FIND THE WAYS TO COMMUNICATE AND WORK TOGETHER, BUT I THINK OF THE FOUR YEARS THAT THIS PROJECT HAS BEEN GOING ON AND THE OVERSIGHT HAS BEEN DOING THE WORK, THERE WERE FOUR ORIGINAL MATTERS OR WE SAW HOW MANY? SEVEN? WHICH IS PRETTY REMARKABLE. [00:50:01] [INAUDIBLE] GOING TO SHARE THE WHOLE TIME. I KNOW I'M PROBABLY EMBARRASSING A LITTLE BIT, BUT I'D SAY YOU'VE BEEN AN, INCREDIBLY VALUABLE RESOURCE NOT ONLY TO THE COMMUNITY, BUT THE DISTRICT AS WELL. BEING ABLE TO REACH OUT AND GET SOME INPUT, GIVE A LITTLE ADVICE FROM SOMEBODY WHO HAS BEEN IN THE BUSINESS, IN ADDITION TO A COUPLE OF OTHER FOLKS ON THE COMMITTEE. AND RYAN AND KIMBALL, JONATHAN WAS ONE OF THE ORIGINAL MEMBERS THAT LEFT, CAME TO THE LAST MEETING AND SHARED SOME THOUGHTS AND RESPECTED THE BIG THREE THINGS THAT WE'RE SUPPOSED TO DO IS BE TRANSPARENT. 210, WE BELIEVE, UPDATES LATER, STILL DOING IT. GOING STRONG, SHARING ALL OF THE INFORMATION COMPLETELY OPENLY, AND MAINTAINING THE BUDGET. WE'RE STILL ON BUDGET, WE'RE STATING TO GET TIGHTER THERE IN THIS, BUT WE HAD SOME SET ASIDE AS WELL. FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT REMEMBER, WE WENT OUT AND SOLD SOME OF THE BONDS EARLY TO GENERATE MORE INTEREST EARNING. SO WE GENERATED $2.7 MILLION IN INTEREST EARNINGS TO HELP SUPPLEMENT THE BUDGET ON THE PROJECT. BEING ABLE TO ACTUALLY DELIVER WHAT WE SAID WE GOING TO AND ON TIME IS, I THINK, NOTHING SHORT OF A MIRACLE. AND THAT'S WHAT RYAN AND KIMBALL REMINDED US OF THAT. IT'S LIKE YOU WENT THROUGH A GLOBAL PANDEMIC, HUGE PRICE INCREASES, SUPPLY CHAIN ISSUES. WE HAD TO CHANGE THE PROVIDER FOR A SWITCH GEAR. THAT WAS A BIG DECISION AT THE TIME. WE SPENT $100,000 CHANGING MANAGERS, BUT IT WOULD HAVE COST US OVER A YEAR ON THE SCHEDULE AND WE DIDN'T KNOW THAT AT THE TIME. WE HAD A CEMENT FACTORY GOING ON STRIKE THAT COSTS MAJOR ISSUES. [LAUGHTER] GLASS, WE COULDN'T GET. WE HAD TO CHANGE GLASS CENTERS AND SHIP THE TYPE OF GLASS THAT WAS SPENT IN HALF THE PROJECT BECAUSE THE FACTORY COULDN'T DELIVER IT. THERE ARE JUST COUNTLESS NUMBER OF LITTLE THINGS THAT WEREN'T LITTLE THINGS THAT CAME OUT OVER THE COURSE OF THE LAST FOUR YEARS. AND I THINK THROUGH THE GCCM PROCESS, WORKING WITH THE OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE, WORKING WITH CSG, IT'S REALLY BEEN QUITE REMARKABLE THAT WE GOT TO THIS POINT. ANYWAY, I GUESS THAT'S MY SHARE ON PROBABLY THIS ONE. >> I JUST WANT TO ADD THANK YOU TO THE BOND AND OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE. EVERY SINGLE TIME I COME, L I AM SO IMPRESSED, BUT I THINK WHAT I'M MOST IMPRESSED BY AND I HOPE WE APPRECIATE IT AS MUCH AS I DO, I'VE BEEN ON 12 BILLS IN MY CAREER. I'VE NEVER SEEN A PROCESS SO COMMUNITY-DRIVEN AS THIS ONE. AND WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THE BOND AND OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE IS EVERY SINGLE TIME I GO TO A MEETING, IT IS STUDENTS FIRST. STUDENTS AND STAFF ARE THE COMPLETE FOCUS ON WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO FROM EVERY DECISION. HOW IS IT GOING TO AFFECT OUR STUDENTS, HOW IS IT GOING TO AFFECT OUR STAFF, WHAT'S GOING TO BE THE GAIN? AND THEY'RE WILLING TO HAVE THE HARD CONVERSATIONS. THEY DO IT RESPECTIVELY, THEY'RE KIND, BUT THEY ARE WRESTLING WITH SOME REALLY BIG IDEAS. AND I CAN'T LEAVE ENOUGH, BUT IT'S A TREMENDOUS PROCESS AND I HOPE PEOPLE REALIZE IT'S SO UNIQUE. I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT, I'VE NEVER HAD THE EXPERIENCE AND SO IT'S COMMENDABLE, SO THANK YOU. >> I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR YOUR REPORTS TOO. IT'S EVERY SINGLE TIME JUST LISTENING TO IT, I WAS TRYING TO THINK, WHAT IF I ASKED ABOUT THAT? [INAUDIBLE], EXCEPT THERE WAS ONE THING. ON OUR AGENDA, WE DIDN'T HAVE THE REPORT AS THEY PUT THE ATTACHMENT AND SO THEN I WAS LOOKING ON THE BOND OVERSIGHT PAGE, THE PUBLIC PAGE, AND THE REPORTS THERE, WE HAVE THEM UP THROUGH APRIL OF LAST YEAR. SO MAYBE IF WE COULD BACKTRACK AND MAKE SURE THOSE ARE POSTED PUBLICLY SO PEOPLE CAN GET TO THEM [INAUDIBLE] JUST TRANSPARENCY, HOWEVER. >> WE WILL DO THE BEST, HOWEVER. ANY OTHER QUESTIONS [INAUDIBLE]? >> NO. I JUST WANT TO THANK YOU FOR RYAN BECAUSE YOU'RE OUR ROCK, FINE GENTLEMAN. >> WELL, THANK YOU. IT'S BEEN ENJOYABLE AND STRESSFUL, AND EXCITING. I CAME IN, I WAS A A VERY RELUCTANT GUEST DONOR ON A COUPLE OF BONDS. [00:55:04] I THINK [INAUDIBLE] PERIOD. AND MY MINDSET WAS I CAN EITHER COMPLAIN ABOUT IT OR FIGURE OUT A WAY TO GET INVOLVED AND MAKE SOMETHING WORK BECAUSE THE NEED WAS THERE, EVERYTHING YOU NEED WAS THERE, BUT JUST SAYING NO ALL THE TIME DOESN'T COUNT. SO GOT INVOLVED IN THE TASK FORCE AND I THINK JOE LUPO [PHONETIC] WHO MANY OF YOU KNOW, WELL, HE'S ONE MEMBERS, AND HE WAS THE INSTIGATOR OF THE OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE BECAUSE HE WAS IN THE SAME BOAT AS ME, RELUCTANT. YES VOTE,, BUT KNOWING THAT THE FACILITIES NEEDED IMPROVEMENT. WELL, NOT EVERYTHING HAS GONE PERFECT. YES, THERE'S BEEN ISSUES. WE'VE DEALT WITH THEM RELUCTANTLY, BIT OUR TONGUE AND DEALT WITH SOME FRUSTRATING ONES THROUGH THE PROCESS, BUT THAT'S THE NATURE OF CONSTRUCTION AND DOING THIS TYPE OF WORK, BUT I THINK, FOR THE STUDENTS, FOR THE STAFF, AND REALLY FOR THE TAXPAYERS, WHO ARE FUNDING THIS WHOLE THING, I THINK WE'VE TRIED AT LEAST TO DO OUR BEST TO MAKE ALL OF THOSE PIECES OF OUR COMMUNITY FULFILLED IN WHAT WE HAVE. AND I KNOW FOR A FACT THE STUDENTS AND THE STAFF, I FEEL BOX IS VERY WELL-SHUT THERE. AND I'M HOPING THAT THE COMMUNITY SEES THAT THESE BOND DOLLARS WERE WELL-SPENT. IT'S BEEN A PROCESS AND WE'LL KEEP PUSHING UNTIL THE END. SO THANK YOU-ALL AGAIN. >> THANK YOU. >> I DIDN'T SPEAK TO THAT OLD FACILITY, THE OLD HIGH SCHOOL. I HAD A YOUNG GIRL WHO LIVES WITH US AND SHE WAS GOING THERE. SHE SPOKE TO THE DEPARTMENT ISSUE TO KNOW THAT WE HAVE NEW FACILITY THAT MY SON WILL BE GOING INTO IN A FEW YEARS, IT REALLY IS A BIG BOOM. HE DOESN'T HAVE TO FOCUS ON IF HE'S GOING TO BE CALLED OR NOT. HE CAN JUST SOLELY FOCUS FOCUS ON LEARNING. SO THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR ALL THE HARD WORK AND IT SOME OF THIS VERY TRANSPARENT PROCESS. I HAVE SEEN THIS PHASE AND THEY'RE VERY INFORMATIVE AND IT'S GOOD TO KNOW HOW [INAUDIBLE] AS A TAXPAYER. SO I APPRECIATE ALL YOUR WORK. THANK YOU. >> I ALSO WANTED TO SAY THANK YOU, ESPECIALLY FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO STUDENT INPUT AND ANY THAT'S STILL INVOLVED IN THE PROCESS AND JUST FOR GIVING US THIS WONDERFUL, NEW SCHOOL FACILITY. >> [INAUDIBLE] [LAUGHTER] THE COMMUNITY AND ALL OF US OWE A GREAT DEAL OF GRATITUDE TO THE BOND AND OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE AS BEING PART OF THAT AND WITNESSING WHAT GOES ON THERE. AND REALLY DONE JUST A SMALL PART OF IT, BUT IT'S BEEN AN HONOR FOR ME TO ATTEND YOUR MEETINGS AND WATCH YOU GUYS PERFORM AND REPRESENT THIS COMMUNITY IN A WAY THAT, HOPEFULLY, EVERYBODY CAN APPRECIATE IT. THANKS AGAIN. YOU'VE DONE A FANTASTIC, AWESOME JOB ALL OF YOU. >> THANK YOU. [APPLAUSE] >> NEXT ITEM ON THE AGENDA TONIGHT IS THE SUPERINTENDENTS SHARINGS WITHOUT [INAUDIBLE]. >> SELENA FOR SETTING UP TECHNOLOGY. [7. SHARING [GC-7.E.]] PART OF IT, THERE IS PORTION OF THIS, THIS IS BOTTOM NUMBER SIDE. SO WE'RE GOING TO ASK FOR ANYTHING BACK AND I SAY, THANK YOU. [LAUGHTER] NOW, WE'LL SKIP OVER THAT PART. THIS IS GOING TO BE REALLY A GROUP EFFORT TONIGHT. [01:00:03] ONE PIECE THAT I'VE BEEN DOING IS LISTENING AND SOME COMMENTS THAT HAVE COME IN AROUND PUBLIC COMMENTS. I WANT TO SHARE WITH YOU SOME UPDATES AROUND SOME QUESTIONS YOU CAN ASK. >> THERE WERE IN YES OR NO I WANT APOLOGIZE THAT MEMBRANE. IT MAY NOT BE MAIN BOARD OF IT THIS IS THE JUNE. WE WEREN'T EVEN [LAUGHTER]. >> I DON'T THINK PEOPLE PREJUDICE IN [LAUGHTER]. THE JUNE BOARD UPDATE, SO GRADUATION HAPPENED. IT WAS AMAZING AND IT WAS INCREDIBLY WET AND IT WAS COLD AND LESS THAN A MONTH ON THAT ONE IS PLAN FOR RAIN AND HOPE FOR SUN. SO WE'LL BE USING THAT EXPERIENCE TO BE BETTER PREPARED NEXT TIME. BUT IT'S AMAZING WHAT I LOVED ABOUT WITH MY SECOND GRADUATION, WITH FERNDALE, LAST YEAR I SAT UP IN OUT OF STANCE AND I LEARNED A LOT. IF YOU REMEMBER, JESSE TALKED ABOUT THE IDEA THAT WE DIDN'T HAVE IT TOGETHER IN TERMS OF ABA ACCESSIBILITY. SO THIS YEAR YOU SAW FEWER STAFF MEMBERS ON THE FIELD IS BECAUSE THEY WERE ALL WORKING AND THEY WERE PART OF MAKING SURE THAT PEOPLE GOT THE RIGHT SEATS. THAT THEY HAVE THE HELP THEY NEEDED THAT YOUR TAKING CARE OF THOSE IN ATTENDANCE. AND THEN THOSE OF US ON THE FIELD WERE ABLE TO TAKE CARE OF YOU GRADUATES. AND THE STUDENTS SPEECHES, AMAZING. AND JUST HOW CAN YOU NOT JUST CELEBRATES 13 YEARS, THAT REPRESENTS ONE MOMENT THAT REPRESENTS 13 YEARS AND HOW MANY STAFF AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND FAMILY WORRIES AND EXCITEMENT WENT INTO THAT ONE MOMENT SO IT WAS A JOY. MY GOSH, STEVE LOOK AT WHAT I HAVE UP THERE. >> I CAN'T BELIEVE IT. >> I DON'T WANT SAY I TOLD YOU IT WAS COMING. ACTUALLY WE'RE IN THE PROCESS OF DEVELOPING THREE ORGANIZATIONAL CHARTS. NOW KEEP IN MIND, THIS IS THE BEST DRAFT WE HAVE TO DATE. AND THEN MARK IS WORKING WITH THE OPERATIONAL SIDE AND HELPING DEVELOP THE ORGANIZATIONAL CHART FOR OPERATION. SO WE'LL SEE THAT TOWARDS THE END OF THE SUMMER. BUT I AM GOING TO ACTUALLY TAKE THIS BACK TO TEACH HIM OR I NEED TO GO THROUGH AND EXPLAIN A LITTLE BIT ABOUT HOW THIS IS UNFOLDING. AND THE FOCUS WILL BE AND SELENA, IS CONTINUING TO WORK ON THE WEBSITE AND SOCIAL TALK A LITTLE ABOUT THIS TONIGHT. BUT I REMEMBER THAT I HOPE WILL BE A VERY MEMBER WILL BE ABLE TO GO CLICK ON THE BOX OR FAMILY, AND THEN WE'LL GO TO THAT PERSON'S PAGE WITH CONTACT INFORMATION AND SO THE CLARITY AND COMMUNICATION ITSELF. I KNOW THIS TAKEN A LOT OF TIME BUT MY SAY IS GO SLOW TO GO FAST. AND WHEN YOU DO THINGS INTENTIONALLY AND THOUGHTFULLY, YOU DO IT ONCE YOU NEED TO DO IT WELL. SO I'M GOING TO SEE IS IT TRINA, KELLIE, JOHN? TRINA. >> SO WE'VE BEEN WORKING OVER THE LAST SEVERAL MONTHS REALLY TALKING ABOUT WHAT THE DIFFERENT BODIES OF WORK ARE WITHIN TEACHING AND LEARNING AND HOW WE SHARE THOSE. AND ONE OF THE MAIN PIECES THAT WE'VE BEEN TALKING ABOUT IS THAT EVEN THOUGH EACH HAVE DIFFERENT RESPONSIBILITIES, SAY MORE THAN THAT ELEMENTARY FOCUS AND ALL OF HIGH SCHOOL, FOR EXAMPLE, OR FOCUSING ON SPECIAL EDUCATION AS COMPARED TO GRADING PRACTICES AND REPORT CARDS. WE'VE ALL HAD OUR OFFICE OF WORK, BUT WE FEEL REALLY COMMITTED TO UNDERSTANDING ONE ANOTHER'S FOCUS AT WORK AND BEING ABLE TO INTERCHANGE AT ANY TIME WHEN ONE OF US ISN'T AVAILABLE TO JUMP IN SUPPORT THE SYSTEM THAT WAY. TEACHING AND LEARNING GOAL IS TO SUPPORT THE SCHOOLS AND OUR PRINCIPALS AND SO THAT THEN THE PRINCIPALS CAN SUPPORT THEIR STAFF AND STUDENTS. SO REALLY LOOKING AT A SERVICE MODEL FOR OUR WORK. AND WHILE WE'RE IN PROACTIVE AND REACTIVE WAYS, WE ALSO WANTED TO BE REALLY THOUGHTFUL ABOUT ALIGNMENT. AND THAT WE HAVE A SYSTEM WORKING TOWARDS A SYSTEM WHERE OUR SCHOOL HAS FOCUS ON INDIVIDUALITY. BUT WE HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT AS TO HOW AN ARRAY AND REALLY SUPPORTING ONE ANOTHER ACROSS SCHOOLS. SO THIS JUST SHOWS FOR NEXT YEAR ON ACADEMY, JOHN AND I HOW WE'RE LOOKING AT DIVIDING SOME OF [01:05:02] THE WORK AND LIKE CHRISTIE WAS SAYING A HYPERLINK INTO THOSE TO GET MORE DETAIL. THIS CHART IS REALLY BASED ON PEOPLE. WE HAD ANOTHER MUCH MORE DETAIL, ONE THAT SHOWS BODIES OF WORK. BUT HERE, JUST REAL, HIGH LEVEL OF KELLIE WILL BE OVERSEEING PRIMARY ELEMENTARY. AND I'M WORKING WITH ASHLEY HILL WHO WILL BE LOOKING AT MOUNTAIN VIEW AND NORTHBOUND HOUSE AND MOUNTAIN VIEW AND BEACH AND OVERSEEING NOT JUST THE PRE-SCHOOL BUT ALSO FRC SELF CENTERED IN OUR FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER PARTNERSHIP. WE HIRED A NEW EARLY LEARNING SPECIALISTS AS AN OUTCOME OF THE EARLY LEARNING TASK FORCE AND THAT'S NINA BALLEW. AND SHE WILL BE AT OUR EARLY LEARNING SPECIALISTS AND [INAUDIBLE] ON EARLY LEARNING ELEMENTARY AND LITERACY ALONG WITH MISS PETER'S. AS YOU'VE HEARD IN [INAUDIBLE] TIM KEIGLLEY WILL BE COMING OVER TO TEACHING AND LEARNING. AND RESOURCE, AND ATTENDANCE BACK UP MIDDLE SCHOOL PROJECTS AND IS A SPECIAL PROJECTS COORDINATOR THAT WILL BE WORKING CLOSELY WITH JOHN. AND THEN YOU WILL HAVE HEARD US TALK ABOUT ALL YEAR LONG THE MOVE TOWARDS THE IDEA DASHBOARD OR FOR THE MOON AND REALLY ENHANCING OUR DATA LITERACY AND BOBBY OLSEN, WHO'S THE CURRENT NTSS COORDINATOR WILL BE IN THAT THE AS A DATA SPECIALIST OR DISTRICTS CALL IT THE DAC, THE DATA ASSESSMENT SPECIALIST STATE NAME FOR THAT POSITION IN DISTRICTS. WE'VE ALSO JUST HIRED AS YOU KNOW THE DIRECTOR OF THE BEHAVIOR AND MENTAL HEALTH. SO HE WILL BE WORKING CLOSELY WITH CHRIS. WE HAVE A POSTING RIGHT NOW FOR A BEHAVIOR SPECIALIST POSITION. AND THEN JANENE MARTINEZ WOULD CONTINUE IN HER ROLE. BUT RIGHT NOW SHE'S GIVING ANY OTHER SPECIAL EDUCATION [INAUDIBLE] SHE DOES HAVE PREVIOUSLY FOR THE DISTRICT [INAUDIBLE] SPECIAL EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL MENTAL HEALTH AS ADDITIONAL FOLKS TO DO THAT ALONGSIDE. >> SO THE OUTCOMES OF THESE PEOPLE IN CONVERSATION AND HAVING A TEAM ON A REGULAR BASIS. AND WE STARTED TO SEE EVIDENCE OF THAT SHIFT THIS YEAR IS THOUGH PEOPLE MIGHT SEE THEM AS EVIDENCED BY THIS, I BELIEVE THAT IT'S IMPORTANT FOR US TO BE IN SCHOOLS SIDE-BY-SIDE WORKING AND SUPPORT STAFF WHO WORK CLOSELY WITH STUDENTS. AND SO REALLY SHIFTING THAT MINDSET. WHEN I FIRST HAD MY FOCUS GROUPS WHEN I WAS BEING HIRED THERE WAS A LIVE CONVERSATION AROUND THE DISTRICT OFFICE BUILDING ON THE HILL. AND WHAT THAT'S THE GOAL TO ME AS THE SUPERINTENDENT, WAS THAT SAY PEOPLE SAW THAT THE DISTRICT OFFICE WAS A PLACE. AND IF THE GOAL IS TO SEE THE PEOPLE AS A SUPPORT. THAT WE WORK FOR THE TEACHERS SO THEY CAN WORK FOR THE STUDENTS. SO REALLY HIGHLIGHTING THE AREAS OF SUPPORT. AND THEY CAME OUT REALLY A LOT THAT CAME OUT FROM FAMILIES AND STAFF AROUND THE NEED FOR SUPPORT AROUND THE TENANTS. THE NEED AROUND BEHAVIORAL MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT WHICH GETS INTO THE DRUG PREVENTION AND THEN A FOCUS ON EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND REFERENCE SERVICES FOR FAMILIES. AND IT ONLY FALL BUT I WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU'VE GOT YOUR EYES ON THIS AND WE'LL CONTINUE TO PUT THIS IN PLACE AND ON THE WEBSITES AND START TO DEVELOP [INAUDIBLE]. ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS? YES, PEGGY? >> I DO HAVE QUESTIONS BUT I ACTUALLY THINK THAT I'M GOING TO SAVE THEM FOR LATER FOR, I'M THINKING ABOUT THE CONSENT AGENDA AND RESPONSES TO MY [INAUDIBLE] I'M GOING TO SAVE THEM FOR THAT BECAUSE THAT'S WHERE I'M GOING TO ORGANIZE MY THOUGHTS. >> OKAY. >> THANK YOU. >> WE CAN BRING THIS BACK. SAFETY UPDATES. AS YOU KNOW, AND I'VE BEEN SHARING WITH YOU. I'VE BEEN WORKING WITH DIFFERENT LABOR LEADERS, TEACHERS, PRINCIPALS, COMMUNITY. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO HAVE A SYSTEM THAT IS FOCUSED ON SAFETY? AS YOU JUST SAW SOME OF THAT, A FOCUS ON BEHAVIORAL AND MENTAL HEALTH AS PART OF THE SAFETY. YOU ARE ON CAMPAIGN WHEN PEOPLE FEEL THEY BELONG AND THEY'RE CONNECTED, THEY TEND TO MAKE SEVERAL CHOICES. THE FOCUS ON CONVERSATIONS AROUND DRUG AWARENESS SAFETY, [01:10:03] LOCKS ON DOORS OF SAFETY. THE ONE PIECE THAT CAME OUT LAST MONTH AROUND THE SRO AND WHY YOU DO NOT HAVE ONE, IT'S NOT THAT WE DON'T WANT THAT ONE. I JUST WANT TO BE REALLY CLEAR, MARK AND I IN PARTICULAR HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH CHIEF TURNER ALL YEARS. ACTUALLY SINCE BEFORE I WAS AN OFFICIAL CHIEF TURNER AND I BEGAN MEETING. WE'RE SO FORTUNATE TO HAVE SUCH AN INCREDIBLE RESPONSIVE POLICE DEPARTMENT. I WORKED WITH THE CITY, THE MAYOR, CITY COUNCIL OF FOLKS, REALLY TALKING ABOUT WHAT DOES THAT MEAN. IF YOU'RE WATCHING THE NATIONAL LANDSCAPE, HIRING POLICE AND GIVING PEOPLE THEY'RE WERE IN A CRISIS IN A LOT OF WAYS, AND SO IT'S NOT ALWAYS JUST ABOUT MONEY. WHEN YOU'RE IN A SAFETY FEATURE IN A PLACE, THERE'S OTHER RESOURCES YOU HAVE TO THINK ABOUT AND THERE'S THE PEOPLE PART. IN ORDER TO HAVE AN SRO, YOU CAN HAVE THE MONEY, BUT YOU ALSO NEED TO HAVE A DEDICATED FULL-TIME PERSON READY TO DO THAT WORK, AND SO CHIEF AND I CONTINUE TO TALK ABOUT WHAT DOES THAT LOOK LIKE, WHAT'S THE TIME FRAME FOR THAT? THEN ONCE YOU IDENTIFY A PERSON, IF THEY'RE ABLE TO GET SOMEONE HIRED, THERE'S AN ACTUAL PRETTY ROBUST TRAINING PROCESS, RIGHTFULLY SO THROW OSPI. JUST KNOW THOSE CONVERSATIONS HAVE BEEN HAPPENING ALL YEAR, IT'S NOT ABOUT NOT WANTING TO HAVE IT, IT'S JUST WHEN WILL IT HAPPEN, AND SO IT JUST TAKES SOME TIME. YES PEDDY. >> ONE OF MY CONCERNS IS; YOU TALK ABOUT, WHETHER THERE'S NOT ENOUGH LAW ENFORCEMENT, BUT I THINK PART OF THAT HAS TO DO WITH SOCIETIES' ATTITUDE AND TREATMENT OF LAW ENFORCEMENT, AND I WOULD HOPE THAT IN OUR SCHOOL SYSTEM, WE ARE HOLDING THAT UP AS AN HONORABLE CAREER OPTION AND ENCOURAGING PEOPLE TO INVESTIGATE THAT AS A CAREER. >> ABSOLUTELY. ONE THING THAT WE DID PUT BACK IN PLACES WAS FIGHT WITH A BUDDY, AND I UNDERSTAND THAT, WAS IT DURING THE GOLDEN MARK THAT IT WENT AWAY? THAT PROGRAM WENT AWAY, SO IT WAS A TIME FOR FIRST RESPONDERS COME OUT AND HAVE LUNCH WITH STUDENTS, SO WE STARTED TO SEE THAT. I'M ACTUALLY GOING TO ASK TRINA TO TALK A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE YOUTH COALITION, IT'S ANOTHER PART AND EMPOWER INVOLVED. >> WE HAVE AN INFORMAL GROUP THAT HAS BEEN FORMING AND GROWING A LITTLE BIT EACH TIME WE MEET AND IT'S A COUPLE OF COMMUNITY MEMBERS REACHED OUT FROM ACROSS THE WORLD WITH STAFF AND MEETINGS JUST TO TALK ABOUT WHAT WE CAN DO IN RESPONSE TO THE TRAGEDIES THAT WE HAVE THIS YEAR AROUND DRUG OVERDOSES. THAT'S JUST EXPANDED TO HOW CAN WE PUT AS MANY PROTECTIVE FACTORS IN PLACE FOR STUDENTS? ON THAT TEAM WE HAVE, I DON'T KNOW, THE TEAM, AN INFORMAL GROUP OF TEAM, OUR MAYOR, A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE POLICE, A YCA, A CITY COUNCIL MEMBER, TEACHER, A COUPLE OF PRINCIPALS, STAFF MEMBERS, AND THE LIBRARY HAS REPRESENTATIVES THERE. I'M PROBABLY FORGETTING SOMEBODY. THAT'S BEEN A WONDERFUL TIME COMING TOGETHER AND PUT OUR HANDS TOGETHER AND WANTING TO DO THINGS THAT WE CAN JUST ACT ON QUICKLY AND HAVE IT FOCUSED FIRST POINTS OF ACTIONS JUST AROUND HOW DO WE ENGAGE KIDS POSITIVELY OR RELEASE TIME OR AFTER SCHOOL SO THAT THEY HAVE SOME OPTIONS THAT ARE SAFE AND CONSTRUCTIVE AND THAT THEY STILL WANT TO GO AND DO AS WELL. [INAUDIBLE] SOME OF THOSE STAFF MEMBERS WERE AT DAY 1 OR TWO DAY, ALL COUNTY OPAS ON IT. BUT ALL THAT CHUCK AND FOUNDATION, A GROUP OF VOLUNTEERS FROM ACROSS THE COUNTY, REFERENCE TO ALL HANDS WELCOME, JUST TALKING ABOUT ALL HANDS ON DECK. WE JUST ALL NEED TO COME TOGETHER OUT OF OUR SILOS AND WORK TOGETHER TOWARD THE CRISIS THAT WE HAVE IN FRONT OF US, AND THAT WAS A REALLY STRONG REPRESENTATION FROM SCHOOLS, MEDICAL, POLICE, AND MENTAL HEALTH REPRESENTATION. IT WAS A SOBERING DAY, IT WAS A HARD DAY. TOMORROW, WE'LL COME TOGETHER AGAIN, MEETINGS HAVE BEEN HOSTED ON ZOOM, IT'S A STATEWIDE EFFORT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON. IT IS HOSTED IN THE MORNING, VIRTUAL, AND IN THE AFTERNOON, WE'RE HEARING FROM PANELS OF LIVED EXPERIENCE AS WELL AS THE DIFFERENT ENTITIES THAT I MENTIONED. [01:15:03] TOMORROW WE'RE GOING TO HAVE SOME STUDENTS AS WELL AS SOME COLLABORATORS AND WE'RE GOING TO TALK TOMORROW ABOUT WHAT WE CAN DO AS A COMMUNITY FIRST FOR SAFETY OF OUR STUDENTS AND ADULTS, AND SO THE ACTION-ORIENTED FOCUS TOMORROW. >> DO YOU KNOW IF THEY VIDEOED THE PRESENTERS IN THE AFTERNOON, BECAUSE I WANTED TO DO THE MORNING TING FOR ANYTHING BUT THEN I HAD TO COME BACK [INAUDIBLE] >> I THOUGHT I'D MAYBE GO, BUT I'M HOPING THAT WE TRY AND MAKE THAT AVAILABLE, I AGREE. >> I THINK THE OTHER PART OF THE SAFETY THAT WE DON'T ALWAYS THINK ABOUT IS THE FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER. FAMILIES AND GUARDIANS ARE THE FIRST FEATURE, AND SO MAKING SURE THAT WE'RE PROVIDING CARE AND EDUCATION, THOSE ARE OUR PRIMARY SERVICES, AND THAT WE'RE WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP. WELL, YOU'RE HEARING JUST ABOUT A TWO-DAY SUMMIT ON ONE PART. WE CAN TALK AND TALK AND TALK ABOUT THIS AND WE'RE GOING TO CONTINUE TALKING ABOUT THIS. I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT WE'RE LOOKING AT SAFETY ACROSS THE LANDSCAPE INTO A VERY BROAD LENS TO ENSURE THAT WE'RE ENCOMPASSING EVERY COMMUNITY PARTNER AND EVERY EFFORT IN ORDER TO CREATE A COMPREHENSIVE SYSTEM THAT'S SPEAKING ABOUT IT FROM EVERY ANGLE. I'M GOING TO GET THIS BACK TO SELENA >> BECAUSE IT IS JUNE, [LAUGHTER] WE'VE BEEN GETTING YOUR QUESTIONS, AND WHAT WERE ABLE TO SHARE. I WILL BEGIN WITH SHARING PROUDLY THAT THE COMMUNICATIONS TEAM IN PARTNERSHIP WITH [INAUDIBLE] DID RECEIVE FIVE STATE-LEVEL COMMUNICATIONS AWARD FOR VARIOUS PROJECTS, INCLUDING DR. JUNIUS'S ENTRY PAN. I DON'T EVEN THINK THE REST OF OUR TEAM KNOWS THIS YET, BUT JUST RECENTLY WE ALSO WERE NOTIFIED THAT WE ARE RECEIVING RECOGNITION FOR THE FLORIDA NATIONAL MEDICAL FOR DR. JUNIUS'S ENTRY PLAN AS WELL. THAT'S JUST ONE THING THAT WE HAVE TO WORK ON [APPLAUSE]. >> THANK YOU. >> BECAUSE OUR CONTINUES, WE HAVE ALSO LEARNED WHAT NEXT YEAR WILL LOOK LIKE. A REBOUND OR A WEBSITE. WE HAVE RECEIVED SOURCES FROM THE BSE GOING OUTSIDE THE LINES. OUR GOAL IS TO MAKE NAVIGATION FROM THE EXTERNAL USER EASIER, MORE USER-FRIENDLY WAY. NOW THEY HAVE PROVIDED US WITH OUR WORK AND REVIEW. TONIGHT WE ARE WORKING. ONE OF THOSE IS WE STARTED WITH AN INCREASE IN TRANSPARENCY. WE HAVE STARTED TO UPLOAD COMMUNITY MEETING MINUTES. AGENDA THAT ANY MATERIALS THAT ARE SHARED IN THOSE MEETINGS. ANOTHER ONE IS IDENTITY RECORDS WORKSHOP LAST YEAR AS A REFRESHER. IT WAS REALLY JUST ANY PREVIOUS TRAINING ACCURACY WAS IN A GROUP SETTING WHERE IT WAS ONLINE EDUCATION. AND IT WAS AN HOUR LONG. AND IT'S THE LAST WEEK. AS WE SPOKE AS A DISTRICT LED BY FEMALES PLAY WITH THE ATTORNEY. APPEAL AFFIRMED. SO HIGHLY RARE ACCESS TO THE EXPERTS FOR QUESTIONS AND FOR CONFIRMING THAT YOU ARE ALL AWARE OFFICES. AND IT WAS JUST A GREAT OPPORTUNITY WHILE I'M PAINTING A WAY TO INTERACT WITH. SO I HAVE A SCREENSHOT OF A WEB PAGE J BEGINS TO CAUSE INFLAMMATION. COMMONLY REQUESTED DOCUMENT SO THAT IT'S EASIER FOR THE COLOR CLASSES AS WELL AS ANOTHER ONE OVER HERE ALSO SCARES YOU. [01:20:01] INCREASE THAT ASSET ON HER WEBSITE. SO DAVE, FOR THE COMMUNICATION DEPARTMENT IS THAT WILL COME ALONG WITH A REBRAND OUR DISTRICT. AND SO RIGHT NOW, THOUGH, I WANT TO BE CLEAR AND OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL, EAGLE, THE WHITE LOGO, ENTIRE DISTRICT. AND SO I SAID TO RE-BRAND ALONGSIDE IT WAS MORE TRANSPARENCY. ANOTHER ONE OF THE PATIENTS I WOULD LOVE TO ISSUE NOTICE HERE IS AN ANNUAL REPORT OR WRITE A KEY INFORMATION SO THAT HE'S COMING UP. AND WHEN I'M TALKING ABOUT CANDY LETTERS AND I THINK SOMETIMES WE GET CAUGHT UP IN THIS AS I HEARD, DREAM OF WHAT I JUST WANTED TO ADDRESS. THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LAW AND POLICY. SO WE AS A DISTRICT, HAVE POLICIES, WHICH RIGHT NOW WE'RE IN A PROCESS FOR EVERY SINGLE WOMAN AND THEY HEAR THINGS THAT HE SAID UNTO HER SAFE. THIS LESSON 2014, WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE LATEST ONE, SO WE NEED TO DO A FULL REVIEW OF EVERY POLICY. SO THAT IS GOING TO TAKE SOME TIME. THAT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN POLITICALLY. ALSO THE PROCEDURES TO GO WITH IT. AND ONE THAT CONTINUES TO COME UP IS THIS IDEA AROUND GENDER IDENTITIES. AND ALL OF THAT IS INTERESTING BECAUSE WHEN I LOOK AT OUR DISTRICT POLICIES AND WHAT WE'RE DOING, HOW TO CHANGE A LONG TIME. BUT THERE ARE LAWS THAT COME OUT. SO I THINK SOMETIMES WE HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT WE MAY HAVE A DISTRICT POLICY THAT THEY ALL ARE WRITTEN OFF OF GLOUCESTER. SO WE'RE NOT MAKING ENOUGH THAT WE GET BY SOME POLICY, WE REVIEW IT, YOU WILL HAVE TO ADOPT IT AND APPROVE IT TO CHANGE IT. BUT IT'S THE LOSS. AND WHAT ALWAYS TRUMP'S POLICY IS A LOT. SO WE DIDN'T HAVE A POLICY IN PLACE HERE IN A DISTRICT THAT IF A FAMILY COMES OUT AND SAID, YEAH, THE LAW SAYS THIS, THAT WILL ALWAYS, ALWAYS TRUMP OUR POLICIES. AND SO I THINK IT'S JUST REALLY IMPORTANT IS REMEMBER, WHAT DO WE, AS A DISTRICT YOU FALL OVER AND REALLY WEST LEGISLATIVE CONTROL. AND SO SOMETIMES WE MAY ONLY WANT TO CHANGE THAT, OR WE MIGHT BE ABLE TO CHANGE SOMETHING HERE AT THE DISTRICT LEVEL. BUT REALLY IT'S ABOUT LEGISLATION AND THE LEGISLATIVE POSITION AND ACCURACY AT THE LEGISLATIVE SIDE. THAT IS CRITICALLY IMPORTANT BECAUSE WE CAN SAY ALL THEY TALK ABOUT HERMIONE'S POLICIES. BUT IF KILOMETER OR SOMETHING HAPPENS AT THE LEGISLATIVE LEVEL, IT DOESN'T MATTER REALLY WHAT ARE CALLED CC. SO IT'S JUST ALWAYS IMPORTANT THAT WE AS A BOARD AND THAT TEAM AND I HADN'T REALLY SPENDING A LOT OF TIME. AND IF WE'RE DOING THE REVIEWS, WE'RE MAKING SURE THAT THEY UNDERSTAND WHAT WILL I SAY AND IN TERMS OF WHAT WAS JUST BEING HONEST POLICIES AND I GET A QUESTION. THAT IS KIND OF A STATE LAW. THAT AND I'M SAYING EVEN PLANTS. YES. AND YES INDEED. WE WILL SEE, LET'S SAY WE WROTE MOSTLY BECAUSE WE WANT TO GO SOME WAY THAT IT'S NOT IN LINE WITH THE LAW. AND ONLY COMES UP SAYS, YEAH, THIS IS MY AMINO RIGHT? THAT WILL ALWAYS CIRCUMVENTS ARE POLICIES THAT MAKE SENSE. YEAH. HOW OFTEN DO YOU REVIEW THESE THINGS ARE USED TO REVIEW YOUR OWN WORK AND SEEING HOW MY ANALYSIS THAT WE ARE. BUT WE HAVE SOME WORK TO DO. WHEN SOMETIMES WHEN I LISTENED TO A LITTLE COMMENT OR I READ SOMETHING OR URINE CALLS ME AND THEY SAID, YEAH, YOUR POLICY POLICY SAYS ACTUALLY IT'S THE LAW THAT SAYS THAT IN OUR POLICY SAYS THIS AND SOMETIMES THOSE HAVE THIS THING. SO I JUST THINK IT IS IMPORTANT OF ALL, LET'S SEE WHAT WE HAVE CONTROL OVER, BUT IT'S GUIDED BY STATE LAW. I'M WORRIED ABOUT HAVING ACCESS TO SOMEBODY THAT ADVICE ABOUT WHETHER A POLICY IS ACTUALLY WHY WITH A WIDE STEP. [01:25:04] SO YOU ACTUALLY GO, YOU HAD ACCESS TO LHASA AND THEN YOU CAN GO ON ABOUT THAT AND THEY WILL ACTUALLY, THERE'S A LINK THERE THAT SAYS THESE ARE THE ONES THAT THEY WANT US TO FOCUS ON THIS YEAR. AND ACTUALLY, AS WE HAD IN THE CYCLE OF DOING THAT, WE WILL BE UP-TO-DATE WITH CURRENT POLICIES BECAUSE WE HAVEN'T BEEN DOING THAT. WHERE WE SET ASIDE AND JUST SAY, HEY, WE NEED TO KNOW. AND IF YOU LOOK AT THE PLAN THAT I PUT OUT THERE, SO THERE'S SOME ANSWER. MY HOPE IS THAT THOSE CAN BE LOCATED ON THE CMOS OR WE LOOK AT IT, YOU'RE GOING TO START TO SEE SOME POLICIES COME THROUGH ON BOARD ACTION RESTS ARE REVIEWING EVERYTHING THAT IS COMING. I DID WANT TO JUST START THROWING IT AT YOU WITHOUT HAVING THIS CONVERSATION IN PERSON. BUT IT ALL COMES OFF AND RUNNING ON THAT AND YOU'LL HAVE ACCESS TO ALL OF THOSE. WE MAY FIND SOME POLICIES THAT ARE SPECIFIC TO OUR DISTRICT. CUSTOMIZE THE SERUM. NICE EXAMPLE. I FEEL REALLY BAD FOR CHRIS WARE ON REVERSE. ARMY AS POLICY ISN'T 100% CLEAR. IT WASN'T AS LONG AS, YOU KNOW, RECORDKEEPING SEEMS TO ME THAT THERE'S SOME THINGS THAT ARE LEFT, YOU KNOW, ALL THAT STUFF. IT JUST WET CENTER. SELENA AND I'M TALKING ABOUT, YOU KNOW, JUST SETTING ASIDE A FEW DAYS SO I'M SPENDING A FAIR AMOUNT OF TIME RIGHT NOW EVERY WEEK. REALLY NICE TRANSIT BET. SO YOU'RE GONNA START TO SEE IT, JUST KNOW THAT IT WOULD, OF COURSE NEXT YEAR THIS IS GOING TO BE A LARGE BODY OF OUR WORK, IS HAVING THESE CONVERSATIONS. AND I JUST FORGOT VOCABULARY. I WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT WHEN PEOPLE SAY THIS IS SHIRT POLICY IS SOMETIMES WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING. WE DON'T HAVE WE CAN'T CHANGE THAT IF WE WANT TO CHANGE THAT AND WE NEED TO GO TO THE LEGISLATORS HERE. SO WE PLAY A ROLE IN BOTH. I MEAN, HE SAYS IS HE SAYS THAT IT'S AT SEVERAL YEARS BACK. HE ACTUALLY DID GO THROUGH THE DISTRICT, HIRED YOU ALL THE POLICIES AND THAT DATA. AND THEN WE'RE ACTUALLY HAD ALL THE POLICIES OVER THE COURSE OF THE YEAR ROTTEN AND HAVING POLICIES. THERE ARE SOME DISTRICTS. SEATTLE HAS THEIR TEAM OF LAWYERS. WHEN A LAW COMES OUT, THEY USE THEIR OWN POLICY, REAL SPECIFIC TO THEM. LAWS [NOISE] WILL PROVIDE SOMETHING SO THAT EVERY TIME A LAW CHANGES, WE HAVE TO COME UP WITH OUR OWN POLICY. THEY SAY HERE IS OUR RECOMMENDED POLICY, AND WE CAN TWEAK IT IF WE NEED TO. IT GIVES US A PLACE TO START. >> YESTERDAY, OUR RESOLUTION AND ADOPTED. >> YEAH, WE HAVE THAT WORK TO DO. >> I HAVE A QUESTION THAT HASN'T BEEN ADDRESSED BY SOME PEOPLE IS THAT LAST YEAR'S RESOLUTION BOOK. I'M LIKE WELL, WHAT'S A RESOLUTION BOOK? BUT APPARENTLY HE HAS A RESOLUTION IF YOU HAVE A HARD COPY AND KEEP IT. I KNOW WE HAVE A RESOLUTION SITUATION WHERE THEY'RE OUT OF ORDER. THAT'S THE ACTUAL PROCESS THAT PUT THIS CHANGE IN PLACE. WE SHOULD HAVE SOMETHING AS A GROUP AND PROBABLY A BACKUP. SEEMINGLY WITH A MINUTES BOOK. APPARENTLY THERE SUCH A THING AS THE MINUTES BOOK, LOOK AT THAT IN A BIT. WHERE THESE THINGS LIVE. >> THAT'S A GREAT QUESTION. I'LL GET INTO THAT. ALLOW YOU TO JUST MOVE TO PAPERLESS. ACCEPT CHANGE AND SOMETIMES THEY DECIDED TO CHANGE AS FAST. I WANT TO BE SUPER TRANSPARENT ON IT. WE'RE NOT THE ONLY ONES. BECAUSE I ACTUALLY HAVE CALLED WEIZZA AND I SAID, "COULD WE HIRE SOMEONE COME IN AND DO THIS CLEAN UP." THEY SAID, YES, ANYONE HERE THEY CAN START OBVIOUS. YES. THAT'S HOW MANY DISTRICTS ARE BUSY ACCESSING THIS SURFACE RIGHT NOW. WE'RE GOING TO DO OUR PART AS MUCH AS WE CAN AND THEN WE'RE CONTINUING TO BE A CONVERSATION. >> THE ZEROS THAT YOU JUST TALKED ABOUT FOR A WHILE. IT'S JUST A WHOLE MANUAL FOR THE DISTRICT FTE 500-4999. THAT WOULD BE YES. IT WILL BE $8,000. THEY WOULD LOOK AT IT OVER 24 MONTHS. [01:30:03] EVEN IF IT IS A ONE-YEAR WAITING PERIOD. IF THAT'S SOMEBODY WHO FULL TIME, WOULD LOOK AT IT, SHOULD BEGIN ANOTHER LIST. >> WE WERE ON THEIR LIST, [OVERLAPPING] BUT THERE ARE ALSO SOME NAMES WE CANNOT BE ON. WE GOING TO DO YES AND. I WANT THE PUBLIC TO KNOW THOUGH TOO, SOMETIMES I CAN BE HERE ABOUT THE VIEW, THE BOARD NEEDS TO DO THESE THINGS. REALLY IS NOT WITHIN YOUR JURISDICTION TO DO. UNDERSTANDING IF IT'S A STATE LAW, WHO YOU CONTACT VERSUS IF IT IS A DISTRICT POLICY, WHO DO YOU CONTACT. >> THAT'S WHAT I WAS JUST GOING TO ASK IS LIKE WE WERE TALKING ABOUT REVISING OUR WEBSITE. WHAT ARE THE POLICIES? HOW THOSE GOODS? ARE THOSE INFLUENCE VERSUS LAWS. THEN BE PROVIDED ONLY WHERE THOSE CHANGES WERE, THEIR VOICE CAN ACTUALLY BURN. >> YEAH. THAT'S A GREAT IDEA. DOLLAR POLICY IS ON THE BOTTOM IF IT LINKED TO AN RCW, IT'S RCW AT THE BOTTOM. BUT AT LEAST PART OF IT IS BECAUSE OF THE STATE LAW. >>THERE'S SOME LAWS ADDED THAT WE HAD GOTTEN. >> THERE'S A LIST OF RETIRED POLICIES, DO YOU GO LOOKING FOR SOMETHING. THERE IS POLICY WE CURRENTLY. WAS LOOKING FOR THAT. COULDN'T FIND IT, IT'S NOT LISTED THERE. OF GRAVITY EXISTED AT ONE TIME, BUT THERE'S NO REFERENCE TO RETIRED. IT WOULD BE NICE TO KNOW WHERE WE WERE AT THAT. >> IF YOU CAN ASK PERSONALLY TRY OUR BEST TO SEARCH AND FIND IT. BUT WE'RE GOING OFF THE SAME TOOLS YOU ARE. WE'RE GOING TO SELL THROUGH THIS ONE AS WE'RE IN IT TOGETHER. JUST BASICALLY I JUST WANT TO BE REALLY TRANSPARENT WITH. WE HAVE A LOT TO DO. I WANT TO IDENTIFY THAT WE'RE NOT COMPLETELY UP-TO-DATE BUT WE ARE GOING TO GET THERE. IT'S JUST GOING TO TAKE SOME TIME. GABBY, WELCOME TO THE BOARD. PROBABLY NOT GOING TO BE HERE TONIGHT. SO GABBY IS TO HOLD THE STUDENT UPDATES ALL BY YOURSELF. WOULD YOU LIKE TO ADD ANYTHING THIS EVENING?. >> [INAUDIBLE] I'M HERE WITH DR. NICK AND OTHERS IN THE DISTRICT. I PROBABLY HAVE SOMEBODY FOR COMMUNITY, CONNECTION WISE FINALIZED AND EVOLVE IT. THEN TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY, WE'LL ATTENDING THE ALL HANDS WHILE I COULD GO, THROUGH SOMETHING TO ADD FOR MY SCHOOL WITH PRINCIPAL DILLON TO FURTHER OUR UNDERSTANDING OF THE ISSUE AND COLLABORATE WITH COMMUNITY. [NOISE] THANK YOU. >> NICE JOB. THANK YOU. >> ANY QUESTIONS AT THIS TIME? WELL, THANK YOU FOR THE REPORT AND THE UPDATE ON ALL THESE VARIOUS ISSUES BOTH OF YOU AND [NOISE] TINA. NEXT ITEM ON THE AGENDA IS 8101, WHICH IS TO LOOK AT RESULTS POLICY 2.7 THE ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT, HEALTH AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION. [8. FOCUS ON STUDENTS] THIS IS THE REPORT THAT WE DISCUSSED [NOISE] IN THE LAST MEETING. THIS IS NOW THE DOCKET FOR ANY CHANGES TO THE INDICATORS [INAUDIBLE] >> [BACKGROUND] ON THIS PARTICULAR ONE, I WAS LOOKING AT IT, II WAS TRYING TO JOG MY MEMORY [NOISE] AND WAS THERE AND DIDN'T GET ANYTHING TO JOGGING, SO I DON'T THINK I HAVE ANYTHING FOR IT. BUT ONE OF THE THINGS I DID WAS LOOK AT THE MINUTES. WAS THERE ANYTHING SUGGESTED IN [INAUDIBLE] WE CHANGE THIS OR THAT. THERE WAS NOTHING. IT WAS JUST LIKE WE TALKED ABOUT THIS POLICY. [01:35:03] OTHER TOOLS THAT WE HAVE. YOU CAN GO BACK AND WE CAN WATCH THE RECORDED MEETINGS. I DID THAT TWO TIMES. JUST NEEDED TO SEE, IF THERE'S ANYTHING THAT I CAUGHT IT, YOU GUYS SEE. BUT I DID FIND IT A LITTLE BIT DIFFICULT TO JUST JOG MEMORY. WE DO THE GOOGLE DOC SURVEY AND THEN THREE WEEKS LATER WHEN WE TALK ABOUT IT HERE AND FOUR WEEKS LATER, WE ARE LIKE WHAT CHANGES DO WE NEED TO MAKE. I DON'T REMEMBER. I DON'T KNOW IF PEOPLE HAVE SUGGESTIONS OR WHAT DO YOU GUYS DO TO JOG YOUR MEMORY? [INAUDIBLE] >> THIS ONE WAS BUZZLING BECAUSE THERE ARE INDICATORS FOR LIKE, I HAD A REALLY HARD TIME EVEN SAYING WHAT IS THIS REPORT SHOWING US? BECAUSE JUST LIKE WELL, WE WANT TO INCREASE THE NUMBER STUDENTS THAT ARE ENGAGED IN PHYSICAL ACTIVITY. WELL, THERE'S GOING TO BE GOOD FOR BACKING UP. IT'S WAS LIKE, WELL, WE CAN PLAN OR NOT WE DON'T REALLY HAVE A MEASUREMENT. IT'S LIKE, PICK THE IMAGE FIELD OPTION BECAUSE WELL OBVIOUSLY THEY'RE PROVIDING PHYSICAL EDUCATION, THERE'S EVIDENCE OF IT. EVERYBODY HAS TO TAKE IT ANOTHER NO MEASURE AND SO WHAT WE USED THE DASH IS COMING ALONG. WHAT'S. >> I THINK THAT'S THE PART THAT I NEED TO WORK WELL, THE TEAM TEACHING AND LEARNING ACTIVITIES TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THIS BECAUSE WHEREVER IT'S AT AND UNDERSTANDING WHAT IT IS WE'RE MEASURING? WHAT'S THE ALIGNMENT? YOU SAY, YOU HEARD AND TALK EARLIER ABOUT ALIGNMENT. HOW ARE THEY MAKING SURE THERE'S ALIGNMENT FROM PREPAIDS AS WELL. THEN WITHIN THE RANGE AS WELL. I THINK THAT'S PART OF THE AREAS OF FOCUS IS WHAT ARE WE MEASURING? HOW WILL WE KNOW BECAUSE WE CAN'T TALK ABOUT IT HERE IS IT FAIR TO OUR STAFF? IS IT FAIR TO OUR FAMILIES? IS IT CLEAR TO OUR STUDENTS? I THINK TOO, HOW TO SEND EXTRA CURRICULAR PHYSICAL EDUCATION CHOICES, ORGAN. IT'S A LITTLE AMBIGUOUS RIGHT NOW. >> IN 25 COMMENTS THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR COMING OUT OF COVID, MY SON WAS HOME A LOT. HE WASN'T WORKING OUT BUT TOWARDS THE END OF FIRST QUARTER, I WAS IN THE VERY WEALTHY BUT THE SECOND QUARTER HE STARTED IMPROVING. THEN BY HIS THIRD QUARTER, COME ON, HE COME HOME AND HE'S IN WORKOUT ROOM. NOW, [LAUGHTER] I HAVE TO GET A CAMERA TO GO IN AND MAKE SURE HE'S SAFE. BUT I THINK MAYBE IF YOU CAN GIVE THEM FEEDBACK FROM YOUR PARENTS SO PARENTS ARE YOU NOT SEEING ANY OBSERVATION, ARE YOU OBSERVING ANY CHANGES IN THEIR BEHAVIOR BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT WE'RE TRYING TO DO. IT'S FREE LIFESTYLE CHANGES [INAUDIBLE] >> YOU SAID THERE, MENTIONED THE REPORT THERE WAS AT LEAST THAT ONE GREATER WHERE THEY TOOK REPEATED TEST WHERE THEY SAID THEY TESTED USABILITY AND WE STILL HAVE THAT THING. >> ACTUALLY I WENT TO WATCH THAT, BECAUSE I WANTED TO SEE WHAT IT LOOK LIKE. AND MAYBE THAT'S NOT THE ONE THEY'RE REFERRING TO HERE. BUT AN EXAMPLE OF IT THERE WAS AN AUDIO RECORDING AND THIS YOUNG GIRL, LAST TIME GOT 15 SETS AND SHE WAS WANTING TO DO BETTER. SOMETHING ABOUT HAVING THE SUPERINTENDENTS, STANDBY GOING, YOU CAN DO IT. SHE ENDED UP GETTING 75. SURE SHE WAS A VERY SOUL. [LAUGHTER] BUT ANYWAY, I FOLLOWED THAT BECAUSE I JUST GET TURNED AROUND. BUT ANYWAY, SO YOUR WEIGHT IS HOW IT IS THROUGH CEILING. THAT'S REALLY A LIFELONG SKILL AND THEN THE FAMILIES ON. THERE'S LOTS OF IMPROVEMENTS HERE. WHAT ARE WE REALLY REPORTING? >> WELL BECAUSE THE END IT SAYS WE WILL INCREASE THE NUMBER OF STUDENTS IN HERE AND SEE BUT WHAT IS THE DEFINITION. I THINK IT'S LOOKING LIKE TELL ME SAYING LIVING IN A CHANGE IN PERSPECTIVE OR ATTITUDE AND STUDENTS, AND DO YOU MEASURE THAT STUDENTS SURVEY BY A PARENT INPUT, BY TEACHERS INPUT BUT, THAT'S I THINK THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE TRYING TO FIND WAS INDICATORS. WHAT IS THE ULTIMATE GOAL IS TO CHANGE THAT MINDSET. >> THERE'S A HEALTH EDUCATION CLASSES AND THE OUTCOMES THERE. I NOTICE THAT LOOKING FLASH CURRICULUM IN A GREAT CLAIMS FOR THE RISK REACTION AND ALL THAT STUFF. [01:40:04] BUT HOW DO WE MEASURE THAT IN OUR SCHOOL SYSTEM, ELEMENTS FOR OUR STUDENTS. >> I CAN SPEAK ON UPS OUT OF SALVATION AND THERE'S STUDENTS EXPERIENCES WITH PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND HEALTH CLASSES. GO THROUGH ELEMENTARY MIDDLE, AND HIGH SCHOOL, I KNOW THAT A LOT OF MY FRIENDS AND OTHER PEOPLE I KNOW, INCLUDING MYSELF HAVE BEEN INSPIRED TO FURTHER PURSUE ATHLETIC ACTIVITIES SUCH AS SPORTS. HE DOESN'T LIKE ALDON TO THOSE COPAYS FOR STUDENTS AND THOSE ARE LIFELONG HAVE SO YOU'VE CONTINUED AND TO PURSUE IN SLAG NORMS SCORE AS. I'M GLAD YOU LIKE AFTER COMPLETING THE WRITING WEIGHT TRAINING CLASS ON BY MR. SCHWAB HIGH SCHOOL, I WAS INSPIRED TO TRY AND START WORKING OUT MORE IN OUR DISTRACTING MY BODY, ANY PART FOR VOLLEYBALL. I HAD MANY PEOPLE AT THE HIGH SCHOOL REALLY APPRECIATE THE WAY THAT IT'S DOING THE TEACHERS IN HEALTH CLASS, ESPECIALLY IN RELATION TO THE MENTAL HEALTH, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, TRADITIONAL ELEMENTS, BECAUSE A LOT OF THEM, THEY CAN LEAN ON PEOPLE IN THE DISTRICT, IF THEY'RE NEEDED HELP AND SUPPORT EMOTIONALLY, MENTALLY. THEIR MAIN AWARE THE RESOURCES ACCESSIBLE THAN STUDENT IN THE DISTRICT. I HAVE FRIENDS WHO HAVE GONE OUT AND SUPPORTED THEM AND THEY'VE MADE IT THROUGH PERFECTLY GREAT. HE ADDRESSED DIFFICULT TOPICS WITH INCREDIBLE PATIENTS AND UNDERSTANDING TO ALL STUDENTS INVOLVED. THERE WERE PEOPLE LIKE US WHO WERE OFFERED A SAFE WAY OUT OF THE CLASSROOM WHEN A CERTAIN TOPICS THEY CAN FEEL COMFORTABLE OR UPSET. AND HE ADDRESSED ALL THINGS REGARDING NUTRITION, SEXUAL EDUCATION WITH JUST CURTAINS TO THE FACTS. HE WAS BIG ON GIVING US LIKE CREDIBLE RESOURCES. THAT WE CAN A DO OUR OWN RESEARCH AND COMPLETELY WORKSHEET FOR THE CLASS. I THINK THAT CLASS WITH A LOT MORE LIKE A LIFELONG LOVE, I HAD A LOT OF DIFFERENT AREAS. >> WHEN WE'RE TALKING ABOUT VEGETABLES IS NO MEDIATION THAT THIRD, YOU'RE NOT SEEING BECAUSE, EVERYBODY CAN GET 15 PUSH-UPS, 15 SIT-UPS AS LONG AS THEY'RE MAKING IMPROVEMENT. MAKING IT FLUIDS SO THAT CAN BE ADJUSTED OUT OF HERE. >> THAT'S WHAT I LIKED ABOUT WHY HE SAID ASKED THEIR PARENTS, BECAUSE THEIR PARENTS THINK MAKE THEIR GOALS. THE STUDENTS CAN SET THEIR GOALS >> IT'S GREAT THE DIFFERENT OPTIONS AND THEY HAD A NOVAK. I WOULD STOP THE ACTIVITY OF OUR FAMILY. AND SO WHEN IT WAS JUST ASKED THAT ALL FOOTBALL, SOCCER IS RGB-D OPTIONS NEAR VOICE LAST ONE FOR EACH TEAM. THAT DIDN'T DO MUCH FOR YOU. SUDDEN WEIGH, TRAINING, WALKING, DIFFERENT THINGS THAT THEY'VE GOTTEN OUT THERE. >> EVEN DANCING? >> YEAH. THOSE THINGS THAT INCREASE YOUR ACTIVITY TO GET YOUR ARTERY GOING TO THE SAME LOGISTICS THAT NEED THESE OTHER PEOPLE PROBLEMS NOW. I THINK THAT'S AWESOME. HE SAID, I WAS LOOKING BACK AND I DIDN'T HAVE ANY SPECIFIC NOTES. USUALLY WHEN WE'RE TALKING ABOUT WHEN HE SEEMED NICE, NOTICE THAT BRING OUT THE NEXT THINGS WE TALK ABOUT CHANGES. IT IS ALWAYS HARD. THIS ONE I STRUGGLED WITH BECAUSE FROM A PERSONAL ASPECT, I DON'T KNOW INDICATOR IS THERE ANYONE THAT I'M NOT SURE WHAT THE RIGHT INDICATOR IMPROVED HEALTH IS TALKING TO STUDENTS BACK AND PARENTS IS GOOD. BUT I'M NOT SURE WHAT DAY AND WHAT RESOURCES WE HAVE TO GET THAT, I GUESS. SPECTRUM LIFE CARE FROM THE TEACHING AND LEARNING AND OUR TEACHERS. WHAT DO YOU FEEL IS A GOOD INDICATOR OF THIS? >> I THINK THIS IS ONE THAT WE WERE ON AS A TEAM AND WILL COME BACK WITH SOME RECOMMENDATIONS AND GETTING [INAUDIBLE] AND CHRIS AND LOVE TO NOT CONVERSATION. >> SO THIS POINT IS I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT YOU JUST HOLD ON. [01:45:03] THE NAME CHANGE TO THIS UNLESS THERE'S ANYONE HAS OBJECTIONS, WE'LL GET SOME FEEDBACK FROM THOSE PEOPLE WHO WERE INVOLVED IN [INAUDIBLE] AS TO WHAT WOULD BE. >> I SECOND THAT [INAUDIBLE]. >> I THINK WE CAN JUST SEE THAT CONSENSUS AND NEITHER IS NOT MAKING ANY DECISIONS WHEN THE REPORT AS IS, UNTIL WE GET BETTER FEEDBACK TO YOU SOMETHING THAT WAY. THAT THEN BRINGS US TO THE REVIEW AND MONITORING REPORT FOR RESULTS POLICY 6, WHICH IS CAREER READINESS. THIS IS THE REPORT THAT HE DIDN'T HAVE AVAILABLE TO US AND FILL OUT THE GOOGLE SURVEY ON AND SAYS THAT FOR DISCUSSION AND ACTION TONIGHT AS THE ADOPTED. WITH ADOPTION, HOW WE FEEL. DID IT SHOW THAT WE HAD MADE OR JUST MAKING PERIOD RATHER HE DECIDED TO DIE. SHE HEARING [INAUDIBLE]. WHETHER THEY DEMONSTRATED REASONABLE PROGRESS OR IF THERE WERE EXCEPTIONS MADE TO THAT. YOU HOLD THEM [NOISE] FOR DISCUSSION. >> THIS ONE OVERALL POLICY VERY SIMPLE SENTENCE, ALL STUDENTS WILL GRADUATE FROM HIGH SCHOOL CAREER IN MAY. I THINK IT WAS DIRECTOR [INAUDIBLE] WHO HAD MADE A COMMENT ON HERS THAT WHEN YOU GRADUATE FROM HIGH SCHOOL, YOU'RE NOT GOING TO BE REALLY FOR EVERY CAREER. MAYBE CHANGING THAT SENTENCE TO GRADUATE FROM HIGH SCHOOL READY FOR THE NEXT STEP FOR THEIR CAREER OR SOMETHING TO THAT EFFECT. THE OTHER THING TOO IS THAT SOME POLICY THEN WHEN WE HAVE THE INDICATORS THE ONE AND TWO WHATEVER. IT DIDN'T SEEM LIKE ANY OF THOSE INDICATORS ACTUALLY ASKED ANYONE WE'RE PART OF GRADUATION IN MAY. [NOISE] IT WAS LIKE THIS IS WHAT WE OFFER TO GET THEM READY, BUT THERE'S NO QUESTION TO WHEN YOU GRADUATE. WERE YOU READY FOR THE YEAR? >> I CAN'T SAY [INAUDIBLE] BECAUSE IS LIKE IF WE HAVE FEEDBACK FROM FERNDALE BUSINESSES OR WHILE THE COUNTY BUSINESSES, THAT WOULD BE MUCH MORE HELPFUL IN TERMS OF INTERVIEW PROCESS, THE HIRING OF KNOWING HOW MANY FERNDALE GRADUATES THEY HIRED, WHETHER THEIR STARTING POINT THIS IS BECAUSE, THEY HAD TO COME UP WITH TO GET HIRED IN THE FIRST PLACE AND THEN SEE HOW THEY'RE RETAINED. I REALIZED THAT'S A LOT INFORMATION TO TRY GET OUR BUSINESSES AND I DON'T YOU COORDINATE THAT. >> ACTUALLY GOT SOME OF THAT FEEDBACK FROM BUSINESSES AND WE'RE NOT ALWAYS READY. YOU BEEN THINKING THROUGH HOW TO PARTNER TO HELP WITH SOME OF THOSE STUFF. THE INNER CONVERSATION I'VE BEEN HAVING WITH PEOPLE IS, ARE WE ASKING OUR STUDENTS AFTER GRADUATION, MAYBE IT'S A YEAR OUT, SURVEYS. SOME TYPE ABOUT HOW DID LAST YEAR AGO? WHAT DID THEY DO TO PREPARE YOU? WHAT WERE YOU SURPRISED BY FINDING OUT THOSE WHO ARE CLOSEST TO THE SKILL SETS? I JUST MET WITH BELLINGHAM TECHNICAL COLLEGE AND WELCOME COMMUNITY COLLEGE ABOUT HOW DOES THE PARTNER ON SOME OF THOSE PIECES. THEY'RE CHAMBER HAS SOME IDEAS ABOUT SOME STATIONS ARE OPPORTUNITIES FOR KIDS TO COME AND LEARN, PRACTICE OF JOB-RELATED SKILLS TO CRACK OR A SCAFFOLD UP. ANYWAY, I THINK THERE'S ANY INTERESTS IN AND I THINK PEOPLE WANTING TO GIVE US THAT FEEDBACK BECAUSE IT MATTERS TO THEM. >> I WOULD AGREE WITH BOTH AT THE BUSINESS LEVEL COMMUNITY COLLEGES, ANYWHERE WE CAN GET INPUT TO SEE HOW DO OUR STUDENTS COMPARE, HOW CAN THEY BE BETTER PREPARED? BOTH FROM THOSE THAT ARE BUSINESS OWNERS, COUNSELORS, OR EDUCATORS, I'M NOT SURE WHO DID WELL. THE STUDENTS THEMSELVES, HOW READY DID THEY BUILD TO GO INTO YOUR CAREERS? HOW READY DID THEY GOT TO GO INTO THE FIELD THAT THEY'RE GOING WHETHER IT'D BE EVEN MILITARY OR [OVERLAPPING]. [01:50:03] >> SO AS FAR AS COMMUNITY COLLEGE GGC, WESTERN LOCAL COLLEGES CAN GET INFORMATION ON HOW MANY STUDENTS REQUITE GRADUATION [INAUDIBLE] ENGAGE IN REGULAR CLASSES? >> YEAH. I DON'T KNOW, BUT I THINK WE NEED TO BE ASKING THOSE QUESTIONS JUST BECAUSE WE CAN'T GET NOW. IS THAT NONE OF THOSE THINGS THAT WE PUSH ON TO FIGURE OUT. IS THAT SOMETHING WE ASK OUR STUDENTS. THEY DON'T HAVE TO IDENTIFY WHO THEY ARE. IF IT GOES OUT, A SURVEY GOES OUT TO THEM AND SAYS, DID YOU NEED THIS, YOU DO THAT. WHATEVER IT IS AND THEN I THINK OFTENTIMES IN PAGE 12 WE THINK WE GOT THEM TO GRADUATION WE'RE DOWN. REALLY THE MEASURE IS WHAT HAPPENED AFTERWARDS THAT I LOST TO THINK ABOUT IN TERMS OF CAREER READINESS, THERE'S ALSO THE SOCIAL ASPECT TOO. HOW WAS THAT GOING AND DID THEY HAVE THAT SOCIAL SKILL SET IN ORDER TO BE READY AND KNOW HOW TO ACCESS RESOURCES. I THINK THERE'S A COMPREHENSIVE PLAN FOR US TO BE ASKING. >> IT'D BE A NICE THING, BUT WITH TECHNOLOGY HOW IT IS IT COULD BE SOMETHING THAT WE COULD DO. BUT I'M THINKING IF WE'RE TALKING ABOUT THIS IS WHATEVER YOU ALLEYS ARE ASKING COLLEGE TO GET INFORMATION ON STUDENTS, WE MIGHT HAVE HAD ROADBLOCKS THERE. BUT IF YOU CAN ENROLL STUDENTS AS THEY GRADUATE, WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE ON THE ANNUAL SURVEY AND THEN YOU CAN HAVE YEAR 1. WERE YOU READY FOR THIS YEAR? YEAR 5, ARE YOU GETTING WHERE YOU WANT TO BE WITHIN? NO. [INAUDIBLE] TO MOVE OUT OF THEIR HOUSE THAT THEY WANTED TO DO. YEAR 10, YEAR 15. IT'LL BE JUST TO HAVE THAT OVER YEARS AND HAVE OUR STUDENTS ON THAT ADRIAN FOR THEMSELVES AND HOW MUCH DO THEY CREDITED OR HOLD YOU RESPONSIBLE FOR? >> WELL, AND IF THEY HAD TO DO OVER AGAIN, WHAT WOULD THEY DO DIFFERENT OR WHAT THEY WOULD SHOW SCHOOL THAT THEY'RE DIFFERENT BECAUSE SOMETIMES THAT INPUT GIVES OR I WAS THINKING INTERVIEWING THE PARENTS AND YOUR CHILDREN IS STILL LIVING AT YOUR HOUSE ARE THEY ABLE TO FIND. >> ARE GOING TO BE [INAUDIBLE]. BUT I THINK THAT'S SELF-REPORTING, MIGHT BE NUMERIC ESTIMATING. THEN IF YOU SAY LIKE, WE CAN GET DATA FROM WESTERN. HOW MANY STUDENTS ENROLLED IN AT THE END OF THE YEAR HOW MANY ARE STILL THERE? WHAT DID WE GET TO 20% AREN'T STILL THERE AND WHAT IF THAT 20% WAS LIKE BILL GATES AND HE'S LIKE, I'VE GOT THIS GREAT IDEA. YOU DON'T WANT TO LOOK AT THOSE 20% THEY WERE GRADUATING. ASK THEM. >> YEAH, AND COLLEGE ISN'T THE ONLY WAY. >> THAT WAS JUST THE ONE I SAID. THAT FIRST YEAR I MIGHT NOT ASK SARAH BECAUSE THEY AREN'T READY, AND THEY'RE JUST BUILDING HOUSE WITHOUT US. >> ONE OF THE THINGS I GOT [INAUDIBLE]. >> YEAH. >> THROUGH IT WAS PRETTY COMPREHENSIVE AS FAR AS OFFERING DIFFERENT CHOICES FOR STUDENTS. FOR ME, MY PERSPECTIVE IS THE MORE CHOICES WE OFFER THEM, IT GIVES THEM OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE MORE THINGS. I THINK IF YOU ALL AGREE THAT IF A PERSON FINDS HIS NICHE, SOMETHING THAT THEY TAKE INTERESTS IN, THEY'RE GOING TO BE MORE SUCCESSFUL. THE MORE VARIETY, THE MORE CHOICES WE CAN OFFER THE STUDENTS, I THINK THE MORE CHANCES THEY HAVE FOR SUCCESS GOING DOWN IN THE WORLD. >> I AGREE. ONE THING I PARTICULARLY LIKE IS THE CREDIT FOR THE ON-THE-JOB LEARNING. I THINK THAT'S A VERY STRONG THING BECAUSE THEY'RE ACTUALLY PICKING UP SCALABLE, SMALLER EARNING, UNDERSTANDING WHERE IT'S [INAUDIBLE]. IF WE CAN HAVE MORE PROGRAMS LIKE THAT, APPLE ON A JOB. ONE OF THE THINGS THAT I HEARD THIS REALLY PROBLEMATIC IS THAT SOME JOBS ARE NOT REALLY TRULY AVAILABLE TO ANY MEMBER WHO'S UNDER 18 ON ACCOUNT OF EMPLOYMENT LAWS, OSHA, THINGS LIKE THAT. SAY YOU'RE PREPARING SOMEBODY TO BE ELECTRICIAN OR THEY CAN ACTUALLY ENGAGE IN THAT WORK, I THINK YOU NEED TO START [INAUDIBLE] BRUSHING ABOUT MATHEMATICS OR ANY OTHER METRIC OR THINGS LIKE THAT [INAUDIBLE] THE NECESSARY, MAKING SURE THAT THEY HAVE THE NECESSARY SKILLS IN THAT AREA SO THAT ONCE THEY HIT THAT AGE, THEY CAN ACTUALLY STEP IN AND START DOING THOSE THINGS. BECAUSE, OTHERWISE I THINK ONE OF THE THINGS IS HOW THE TRADES, THE ACADEMIC SO IS NOT GOING TO WORK. BUT I THINK TRAINEES ACTUALLY. [01:55:05] >> [OVERLAPPING] [INAUDIBLE]. >> THEY WERE SURPRISED FROM THE DISCOVERY HOW MUCH YOU READ THE TAPE, BUT IT'S COMPLICATED ARITHMETIC AND THEY HAVE TO PROBABLY SOLVE AND SO THIS ISN'T A WALK IN THE PARK AND ISN'T AN ALTERNATIVE TAKEN EASY AFTER, IT'S ACTUALLY, AND SO TO CENTER THEM WITH AN EXPECTATION THAT IT'S NOT GOING TO BE AN EASY THING, IT'S JUST A DIFFERENT THING. >> [INAUDIBLE]. THERE ARE A LOT OF NOT EXTREMELY ACADEMIC CLASSES AT HIGH SCHOOL. I KNOW MANY PEOPLE WHO'VE ENROLLED IN THE TECH CLASS AT A HIGH SCHOOL AND THERE'S STILL A LITTLE WINDOW WHERE YOU ASK STUDENTS TO HELP YOU WITH YOUR DEVICE. THEY'RE IN OUR CLASS, THEY'RE LEARNING ON THE JOB, THINGS THAT HIGH SCHOOL FOR FEELS THAT MIGHT NOT BE ACCESSIBLE THEN DUE TO THE WORKING LAWS. THERE'S OTHER PARENTHETICAL COURSE, LIKE CULINARY AND I LOVE THE AGRICULTURE CLASSES THAT HELP THEM BE PREPARED FOR A JOB, SO THEY MAY NOT BE ABLE TO GET ON THE JOB EXPERIENCE FOR AT THE STAGE. >> I THINK PARTNERING I KNOW JUST THROUGH A FLUKE OF HOW IT HAPPENED, OUR MIDDLE SON, HE WAS WORKING WITH A LOCAL DENTIST WHO'S SUPPOSED TO GO AND TALK TO THE HEALTH CLASS OR THE HEALTH SCIENCE CLASS AND [INAUDIBLE] EXACTLY WHICH ONE. THIS DOES, HE WASN'T ABLE TO GO, SO HE ASKED MY SON TO GO IN AND HAVING STUDENTS WHO ARE CLOSE TO THAT AGE GO IN AND TALK ABOUT, OKAY, HERE'S WHAT WE'RE LEARNING, WHETHER IT BE A HEALTH SCIENCE, WHETHER IT BE MILITARY. JUST TO HELP KIDS TO GET THE PERSPECTIVE OF OKAY, WHY AM I NOT LEARNING THAT, WHY AM I NOT LEARNING THESE THINGS. HEARING IT FROM A CLOSER EAR, MAKES MORE SENSE [INAUDIBLE]. YOU JUST SEE AND LEARN THIS STUFF. I THINK PARTNERING WITH THE COMMUNITY BUSINESSES, AND RECENT GRADUATES CAN AGREE [INAUDIBLE]. >> YEAH. THERE'S AN ORGANIZATION NORTHWEST EDUCATION SERVICE ASSISTANT, SO THE SILVERY WE'VE BEEN PARTNERING WITH THEM. THEY BROUGHT THROUGH SINCE HIGH SCHOOLS WITH GROUPS OF STUDENTS, 6-15 WORKING [INAUDIBLE] EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES. WE HAVE WORKED THROUGH THEM TO GO OUT AND PROVIDE EDUCATION ABOUT EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES. I THINK MAXIMIZING THEM, AND WOULD BE BENEFICIAL IN MAKING THEM MORE AWARE TO OTHER ORGANIZATIONS THAT THEY COULD PARTNER WITH. BECAUSE IT WAS US AND LEARNING FISHER COMPANY DOWN BY THE HARVARD WAS ONE OF THEIR TOURS AT THE BORDER CONTROL [INAUDIBLE]. THERE ARE PROGRAMS OUT THERE. >> YEAH. >> I THINK IT SHOULD GET MORE CONNECTED WITH THEM IN ORDER [INAUDIBLE]. >> YES, I WAS JUST SHARING WITH WANDA EARLIER. I THINK ABOUT MYSELF LEADER AS LONGER. THIS IS ONE OF MY AREAS THAT I PLAN TO DIVE INTO. ALL OF THEM WERE IN ONE OF MY QUESTIONS TO OCI WAS PARTICULARLY ABOUT QUAVANAUGH GABBY SITTING ON THIS BOARD, THAT'S WORK EXPERIENCE, SO IS THERE SOME CREDIT THAT THESE TWO CAN BE GETTING OUR OTHER STUDENT BOARD MEMBERS ACROSS OUR STATE FOR BEING ACTIVE MEMBERS [INAUDIBLE]. >> ALONG THOSE LINES TO WHATEVER, CAN WE REQUIRE THE STUDENTS TO [INAUDIBLE]. >> YEAH, AGAIN, THOSE ARE SOME OF THE THINGS THAT WE COULD OUTLINE. WHAT WERE THE THINGS BE THAT THEY WOULD DO THAT WE CAN MEASURE IN ORDER TO EARN THAT CREDIT. NORMALLY THESE TWO, THEY COULD PROBABLY HELP US DESIGN THE CORRECTIONAL. >> [OVERLAPPING] [INAUDIBLE]. >> THE RESOURCES ARE ALREADY THERE FOR EXAMPLE, [INAUDIBLE] PUBLIC OFFICIALS TO WHEREVER WE STILL [INAUDIBLE]. >> [OVERLAPPING] [INAUDIBLE]. >> OKAY, GOOD CONVERSATION AND GOOD IDEAS. IT'S ALWAYS A LOT MORE FOCUS ON EDUCATION AND STUDENTS IN THIS WAY. AT THIS POINT, THE CHAIR WILL ENTERTAIN A MOTION. BASICALLY WHAT I'M HEARING AS A SUMMARY FROM MY POINT IS [INAUDIBLE] ONE WE WOULD ADOPT RESULTS RC6, R6 CAREER READINESS AS MAKING REASONABLE PROGRESS, BOTH WITH THE GOAL OF GAINING MORE INFORMATION, I WILL PREPARE OUR STUDENTS ARE FOR AFTER HIGH SCHOOL LIFE IN SOME FASHION, AND HIGHLIGHTING BOTH MULTIPLE CHOICES WE HAVE FOR STUDENTS IN A DIFFERENT CAREER PATHS, [02:00:05] AS WELL AS THE CREDIT FOR YOUNG JOB TRAINING PROGRAMS. BUT THAT'S NOT THE TEMPO TO ALL THE PEOPLE THEN WE CAN VOTE. >> [INAUDIBLE] ALL THOSE IN FAVOR? OH, OKAY. [INAUDIBLE].THANK YOU [INAUDIBLE] GOES AROUND IT. >> [INAUDIBLE] >> THANK YOU. I APPRECIATE YOU HELPING ME. AS PER OUR PREVIOUS DISCUSSION IN OUR STUDENT VOTE, I WILL PUT FORTH AND NOT PUSH ON [INAUDIBLE] BUT AN INTERACTIVE CONVERSATION HAS BEEN ADDITIVE TO COMPENSATION AND ALSO THANK YOU FOR THAT. BUT AS AN ADVISORY VOTE, WOULD YOU VOTE YAY OR NAY FOR THIS MEASURE? >> YAY. >> YAY. NOW THAT WE HAVE DONE THAT AND WE WILL MOVE ON AS FAR AS VOTING. I HAVE ELECTED BOARD. ALL OF THIS IS IN FAVOR OF THE MOTION. SIGNIFY BY SAYING AYE. >> AYE. >> OPPOSE? THAT REPORT IS ADOPTED. THAT TAKES US ONTO SECTION 9 OF OUR MEETING, AND PER OUR EARLIER VOTE WITH THE CHANGING THE AGENDA, WE WILL BE DISCUSSING ITEM 9.02 FIRST, [9. MATTERS RESERVED FOR BOARD ACTION] WHICH IS THE REVISED GOVERNANCE, CULTURAL POLICY, 6E WITH THE ANNUAL WORKFLOW AND WITH THIS, CHRISTINE AND CRISPY WILL PROVIDE US WITH A DOCUMENT AS FAR AS THE REVISED WORKFLOW. IT'S OPEN FOR DISCUSSION AND THEN FOR POTENTIAL ADOPTION. >> I WANT TO POINT OUT, THIS WAS REALLY TALKING ABOUT COGNITIVE DISCONNECT. WE PERSONALLY ARE CREATING THIS WORK PLAN. WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING AT HERE IS WHEN YOU WOULD RECEIVE THE REPORT, KNOWING THAT THAT'S NOT ONLY GOING TO TALK ABOUT THE REPORT. LET'S LOOK AT SEPTEMBER, WHO WOULD RECEIVE THE ACADEMIC REPORTS IN SEPTEMBER TO BE TALKED ABOUT AT A LATER TIME. JUST KNOW THESE ARE NOT THE MONTHS AND WHILE WE WOULD PUT OUT FOR THE PUBLIC TO BE ABLE TO SEE ON OUR WEBSITE, BOTH WHEN IT'S RECEIVED, BUT ALSO SO THE PUBLIC KNOWS WHEN YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE A DISCUSSION AROUND AS WELL. WE'RE JUST LOOKING AT THE RECEIVING PART AT THIS MOMENT. >> CAN I MAKE A REQUEST AT THAT PREVIOUS ABBREVIATIONS? [FOREIGN] [02:09:56] >> THE QUESTION TO THE BOARD, WE'VE HEARD A LOT OF THINGS. [02:10:02] DO YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE AS FAR AS IT IS FOR ACTION TO MOVE TO REVISE AND AS WE SAID, DO YOU WANT US TO COME BACK TO THIS WITH THESE CHANGES YOU CAN SEE THEM ALL BEFORE WE GO THERE. I SAID AMENDMENTS TO ADD ALL THESE THINGS. I THINK IT MIGHT BE EASIER TO WORK TOWARDS IS THAT TK OR MASKING SEEING ON REVISED HOUSE AMENDMENTS. >> THAT WAS FAST. I APPRECIATE HAVING TIME MAKING SURE BEFORE YOU ADOPT IT THAT CHRIS AND I HAVE A CHANCE TO OUR DISEASES THEM. I'LL GET AT IT HERE TO REVIEW AHEAD OF TIME, IF YOU LOOK AT THAT WHEN I EMAIL IT TO YOU, JUST SO IF WE MISS SOMETHING THAT YOU WERE THINKING AND SO THEN WE CAN MOVE TOWARDS ADOPTION, THAT WORKS? OKAY [BACKGROUND] >> YEAH. THERE'S ALSO SOME MAJORS SHERIFFS FROM THE ORIGINAL, SO WE'RE REVISE THE LOOKING AT IT THIS WAY, BUT YOU'RE RIGHT. IT WILL DO IT AND DOCUMENTED HUSBAND. SO THEN WE WILL GO AHEAD AND GO BACK TO ITEM 9.01, WHICH IS THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS COMPENSATION AND SO THIS IS AN ADDITIVE. THERE IS A LOSS. THERE IS STATE LEGISLATION OR EXECUTE OR COMPENSATION. THERE IS ALSO THE LOSS OF POLICY. IS THERE, AND ALSO WAS JUST RECENTLY DONE BY THE LEGISLATURE COMMISSIONED A STUDY THAT WAS DONE ON COMPENSATION THAT WAS SHARED WITH THE BOARD AND WE'LL SAY IS AVAILABLE THROUGH OSTEOCYTE. SO THIS IS JUST COMING UP FOR CONVERSATION AND DISCUSSION AND WHETHER OR NOT WE DO NOT CURRENTLY [NOISE] HAVE A POLICY ON BOARD COMPENSATION. AND SO WE WANTED TO BRING IT UP AND GET THE BOARDS PERSONALLY. SO. >> CAN I SAY IF THINGS OKAY, SO THIS IS ONE OF THOSE. THIS FIRST OF ALL I ASK IS TO BE ON OUR TODAY AGENDA. SO ON THIS ONE, IF PEOPLE COME BACK [NOISE] SO THERE'S A MARSHY 1987 AND WAS THE RCW SAYS THAT A SCHOOL BOARD HAS TO TAKE A VOTE ON WHETHER SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS CAN'T RELAX $150 PER MEETING COMPENSATION FOR THEIR TIME. THE MAXIMUM PER BOARD MEMBER IS $4,800 YEAR, WHICH WOULD BE 96 MEETINGS. HASN'T GONE ANYWHERE. IT GOES TO 96 MEETINGS, ANYTHING HERE. SO IT GIVES YOU WHAT'S THE COST THAT VOTES WHEN IT HAPPENS. THEN AFTER THAT WHITE BORDER MOTOR AND BY DEFAULT, WE WOULD COLLECT THE $50 PER MEETING. ANY BOARD MEMBER CAN RIGHT AWAY YOU'RE SAYING I DO NOT WISH TO COLLAPSE THIS COMPENSATION FOR EITHER TIME OR SPECIFIC MEETINGS. THERE'S ALSO, IF YOU LOOK AT THE ATTACHMENT THAT WAS PUT INTO, THE AGENDA, IT SAYS SOMETHING THAT BEING ELECTED OFFICIALS, ANY INCREASE IN COMPENSATION DOES NOT GET EFFECTED INTO THE FALL UNTIL AFTER THE NEXT ELECTION OF THE ELECTED OFFICIAL. SO THAT I WAS LIKE, THERE'S A LAW THAT SAYS $50 IS OKAY. AND THEN THERE'S THAT SAYING, CAN'T INCREASE YOUR COMPENSATION. SO I WROTE AN EMAIL [INAUDIBLE] TO BOSTON BECAUSE SHE'S RESPONSIBLE OVERALL QUESTION. AND SHE SAID THAT $50 SHOULD IT BE VOTED ON AND AGREE WITH THAT WOULD GO INTO EFFECT IMMEDIATELY. IT WOULDN'T BE AFTER THE NEXT ELECTION. BUT THAT VOTE THAT WE TOOK WITH APPLY UNTIL THE OVERALL WAS TAKEN SAYING NO, WE'RE NOT TAKING, WE'RE NOT CONTROLLING ANY CONVERSATION. SO BASICALLY BY WHOEVER IS 2027 OR WHATEVER, THEY WOULD HAVE TO TAKE ABOUT EACH TIME FOR IT. SO YOU'RE TAKING YOUR VOTES ONCE, AND THEN HAVE SOME DIRECTORS GET TO CHOOSE. [02:15:01] AS FAR AS YOU CAN'T INCREASE YOUR PAY AND WHAT THAT MEANS, THAT'S A STATE CONSTITUTION. NOT SUGGESTING YOU DO THIS, BUT ELECTED OFFICIALS CAN SAY, AND CITY COUNCIL TO KNOW RECENTLY WHERE I PROPOSE THAT WE INCREASE OUR [INAUDIBLE] INTUITION THAT $50. IF SOMEBODY COULD PUT A MOTION SAYING I PROPOSE THAT WE GET PAID EXTRA X DOLLARS FOR THAT. SO I'M NOT GOING TO ACT UNTIL AFTER THE NEXT ELECTION. THE RCW IS THERE NOW, IT JUST REQUIRES THE BOARD VOTE TO SAY THAT ALL BOARD MEMBERS DO TAKE [INAUDIBLE], THAT MAKE SENSE? AND THE REASON I ASKED FOR THE CHANGE IN THE AGENDA WAS WHEN I GOT THE ANGLE WE'RE LOOKING AT THE OTHER BUSINESS AND YOU'LL ALL THE REGULATORS ON THERE AND THEN I THOUGHT WELL, THIS IS THE SAME, THIS IS MISSING. WE HAVE TO DO THIS AND WE HAVE TO DO THAT. THIS IS OPTIONAL THAT IF YOU'RE GOING TO MAKE A CHANGE AT THE STATE LEVEL, YOU SHOULDN'T DO THIS ALL OVER. THERE'S A LOT OF WORK THAT GOES INTO BEING IN SCHOOL BOARD DIRECTOR. IT IS AN IDEAL SITUATION FOR SOMEBODY THAT WANTS TO SET THEIR HEARTS OUT WANTS TO COME IN AND GIVE EVERY SECOND OF THEIR TIME BLOOD, SWEAT AND TEARS TODAY. THAT'S FANTASTIC. I APOLOGIZE PEOPLE. HOWEVER, THERE'S ALSO RISKS IN THIS DECISION THAT CAN AFFECT YOUR MENTAL HEALTH, YOUR CAREER, YOUR ALL SORT OF THINGS. AND I THINK THAT $50 PER MEETING WITH A MAXIMUM OF $4,800 PER BOARD MEMBER. SO LESS THAN $20,000 A YEAR IN A DISTRICT THAT HAS AN $80,000,000 BUDGET. IT IS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED. >> NOT TO PICK BUT TO CORRECT YOUR MATH, THERE'S 5% FOR A YEAR WILL BE LESS THAN $20,000. >> [NOISE], 44,000. >> [NOISE] I THINK YOU'RE TAKING. >> WELL I DON'T KNOW WHO WAS GOING TO 96 MINUTE IT'S LIKE MY BRAIN WAS [INAUDIBLE]. >> SO DISCUSSION OR QUESTIONS? I HAVE TO SAY IT WAS ENLIGHTENING READING THE STUDY THAT THE LEGISLATURE COMMISSIONED IN 19TH BECAUSE ALL THE DIFFERENT POSITIONS THAT THE SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS WERE COMPARED TO AND WHAT THOSE OTHER DECISIONS ARE PAID AND WHAT THEY DO, WE'VE BEEN TALKING TO SOME OF THOSE PEOPLE IN THOSE ROLES THEY DO A LOT LESS THAN WE DO. AND I DON'T SAY THAT DEROGATORILY IT'S JUST THAT WHAT IS THAT THEY'RE DOING IN SOME OF THESE POSITIONS, THEY'RE NEEDED, THERE'S JUST NOT AS MUCH INVOLVED AND THEY'RE GETTING PAID AND I THINK SOME ARE PAID A COUPLE OF DOLLARS THAN ME. >> I KNOW THAT IT WAS OVER $1,000 A MONTH WOULD BE COMPARABLE FOR THE BOARD SHARE. I THINK IT WAS LIKE 1,400 OR SOMETHING. VICE CHAIR HENRY AND A REGULAR BOARD MEMBER WAS 900. SO THAT IS NOT OVER BECAUSE. >> NO. AND AGAIN IT'S BASICALLY PUTS IT OUT THERE AS AN OPTION. IN SOME CASES IT WORKS TOWARDS ALLOWING SOME PEOPLE WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO RUN THROUGH POSITION IF THEY DIDN'T HAVE SOME COMPENSATION BECAUSE EITHER CHILDCARE OR OTHER RESTRICTIONS ON WHAT THEY'RE DOING. >> I'VE TAKEN ON TWO DAYS VACATION PER YEAR ON BOARD. AND $50 IS NOT GOING TO COVER A VACATION DAY. I MEAN, THAT'S THE TIME TYPE OF THING. ALSO I DIDN'T MENTION THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE JOB EITHER. AND I JUST THINK 1987 AND THE STATE NOT REVISITING THIS IS DISGUSTING. DOESN'T SHOW RESPECT TO THE SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS. IT DOESN'T SHOW RESPECT FOR THE CHILDREN THAT ARE STUDENTS IN OUR STATE, I'M ALLOWED TO HEAR OTHER OPINIONS ESPECIALLY IF IT'S ON THE OTHER SIDE. >> AND AGAIN, THIS IS BEING BROUGHT UP TONIGHT. [02:20:02] WE'RE NOT SCHEDULED TO VOTE ON IT. AND THEN IT WAS TIME TO LOOK AT IT. A WHILE EXAMPLE ALSO, IS THERE AN ASH THE ONE THING THAT CHRISTINA ASKED YOU TO ASK CHRIS GETTING HIMSELF IN TROUBLE AGAIN TO HAVE HASHTAG COMPENSATION STUDY ANYBODY WHO IS PART OF THE [OVERLAPPING] PEOPLE CAN EDIT IT AND READ IT THEMSELVES. IT'S LONG, BUT THERE'S LOTS OF GRAPHS IN IT. SO IT'S EASY READ AND PEOPLE ARE INTERESTED IT DOES GIVE [INAUDIBLE] RESPECT ON WHOLE CONVERSATION ASPECT. >> I HAVEN'T HAD OTHER FRIENDS AND OTHER PHYSICIANS WHO ARE, THAT REALLY IS NOT ASKING TOO MUCH FOR WORKING OFF. AND THERE'S A LOT OF READING YOU CAN DO OTHERWISE COMMUNITY WOW THROUGH. SO JUST MENTION WHAT THE ARGUMENTS [INAUDIBLE] [LAUGHTER] [OVERLAPPING]. >> THE MODERN DAY TRANSPARENCY THAT I DID NOT MENTION IN MY LONG. THIS MONEY, SPECIFICALLY THE 400,000 MARKS PER PERSON, WOULD BE TAKEN OUT OF LOVE. THIS IS NOT A STATE, SO THIS WOULD BE TAKEN OUT OF OUR 13 MILLION. >> ON THE OTHER HAND, HERE'S SOME THINGS TO TEST. LET ME STAY UP. YOU CAN ALWAYS GOT NOT TAKE IT. >> EITHER WAY [OVERLAPPING]. >> I THINK TO WHERE I THINK I HEARD FROM YOU AND I'VE HEARD FROM STUFF PEOPLE WANT YOU TO COME VISIT SCHOOLS. PEOPLE WANT YOU TO SHOW UP AT EVEN EVENTS. THERE'S AN EXPECTATION THAT THIS IS NOT IMPRISON. PEOPLE MUST EAT IN PRISON. I'VE TALKED TO MANY OF YOU, TEN O'CLOCK AT NIGHT BECAUSE THAT'S WHEN YOUR DAY IS DONE. THERE'S SO MANY TRAINING LIKE THEY JUST ADDED ANOTHER TRAINING. WHEREBY WE ARE ALL REQUIRED TO ATTEND. TO GO TO THE CONFERENCE YOU HAVE TO TAKE TWO VACATION DAYS TO DO THAT. SO I HOPE PEOPLE UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH TIME YOU NEED TO PUT AT THE END TO DO THIS JOB. AND CURRENTLY IS A VOLUNTEER POSITION. >> I'M NOT VERY GOOD. IT'S NOT A GIVEN INPUT, BUT IT DOESN'T HAVE SAY YOU'RE GOING TO BE ACCESSED SLOWLY BONES SPECIFICALLY ON DOCUMENT. SO WHAT WOULD BE COMING OUT AND LETTING US BE USED FOR SOMETHING ELSE? IT WOULD JUST BE ONE DISTRICT COULD AFFORD. >> ALL LEVY FUNDS ARE ACCESS LEVY FUND. SO THAT THE FOUNDING THAT WE GET FROM THE STATE IS LIKE THE STATE FUNDING AND THEY CONSIDER LEVY TO JUST [INAUDIBLE] BUT IN REALITY, LEVY CASE FOR A LOT, BUT IT HURTS. SO IT WOULD BE DATING FOR THAT. >> THANK YOU FOR THE CLARIFICATION AND ALSO YOUR GOING TO TAKE IT TO THAT [INAUDIBLE]. >> GETTING YOUR EDUCATION THE SCHOOL I ANSWERED MY QUESTION. >> GOOD QUESTION. >> ANY OTHER QUESTIONS? OTHERWISE, I WOULD PROPOSE THAT WE BRING THIS BACK NEXT MEETING FOR A VOTE. SO THEN AT THESIS ON TO THE CONSENT PORTION OF THE AGENDA, THE CONSENT ITEMS ARE A GROUP OF ITEMS BOTH SUPERINTENDENT, AND OR CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS. [10. SUPERINTENDENT CONSENT AGENDA [GC-2.4]] [11. BOARD CONSENT AGENDA [GC-2.4]] I HAVEN'T SAID BY LAW, WE ARE ALLOWED TO VOTE IT ON AS A GROUP OF ITEMS AS OPPOSED TO INDIVIDUALLY. THESE ARE ITEMS THAT ARE ROUTINE TIME EDITORS AND SUCH THAT WE HAVE HAD ACCESS TO PRIOR TO THE MEETING AND THEN ABLE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS AFTER DISCUSSING THOSE AT THIS TIME. BUT AGAIN, IT IS SOMETHING THAT WE CAN VOTE ON AS ONE WITH ONE MOTION. SO AT THIS POINT, FIRST OF ALL, I WILL GO AHEAD AND OPEN IF THERE'S ANY DISCUSSION. >> I HAVE HAD A FEW ITEMS ON THIS LIST, I WAS LOOKING AT THE MAIN APPROACH [INAUDIBLE]. THERE WERE TOO MANY CONSENT AGENDA. I DIDN'T KNOW. [02:25:02] BUT I JUST WANTED TO SAY THERE SOME THINGS MAYBE NEED SOME CLARIFICATION ON, FOR EXAMPLE, ON THE TRAVEL. THE [INAUDIBLE] FOR TRAVEL, I CAN'T SEE THOSE, BUT HUNG ON A SECOND IT'S NOT TOO GREAT. THERE'S A LITTLE BIT CONFUSION ON THE [INAUDIBLE] ACADEMY AND THE COST FOR EACH STUDENT 1,400, WHICH INCLUDES TUITION 753 AND [INAUDIBLE] FEE. I JUST WANTED VERIFICATION STUDENTS OCCURRING 650 BECAUSE THEY'RE EXCESS ARE EXPECTED TO COME HERE. SO THIS DOES THAT MEAN IT'S GOING TO BE 753*2 TO COVER THE TUITION. IS THAT WHAT YOU'RE ASKING FOR? JUST A CLARIFICATION. >> AND I THINK THIS IS ONE OF THOSE THINGS THAT IF YOU ASK AHEAD OF TIME I CAN GET THE PEOPLE WHO ARE ACTUALLY PUTTING THESE FORWARD. SO I CAN TELL YOU WHAT I BELIEVE IN SOMEONE ELSE HAS AN EXPERIENCE, BUT THIS IS WHY WE TRY TO GET THEM IN ADVANCE JUST SO WE CAN ACTUALLY CALL ON PEOPLE WHO DO BUT WE'RE NOT COVERING THAT FOR THE STUDENTS. SO THEY'RE TAKING CARE OF THOSE THINGS. BUT IN ORDER FOR OUR POLICY IS VERY CLEAR THAT IF THEY'RE GOING OUT OF STATE OR OVERNIGHT, THEN WE HAVE TO HAVE ALL OF THAT COVERED. SO FOR EXAMPLE WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO STATE WE WOULD HAVE TO COVER IT. SO THESE ARE THOSE THINGS. >> EXCUSE ME [INAUDIBLE] THEY'RE INDICATING HOW MANY STUDENTS SPLIT UP THE HOSPITALS. THEY JUST LIFTED THE PAGE FROM THE CAMPAIGN SO THERE'S NO INFORMATION THERE. >> THAT'S FINE. UNLESS SOMEBODY KNOW ABOUT IT. >> I THINK THAT WAS THE LEADERSHIP CAMP TO THAT. >> DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING. >> THE STUDENT'S LISTED UNDER [INAUDIBLE]? >> SO THE ONE THAT IS TITLED LEADERSHIP CAMP BOARD APPROVAL HAS THE STUDENTS SPENDS ON THE COST, AND THE OTHER ONE IS TITLED MOUNT OLYMPUS SUMMER CAMP, JUST GIVES US BACK AROUND DAISY IS THAT? >> THERE'S NOT ENOUGH DETAIL ON COST [INAUDIBLE]. >> YEAH, IT'S REALLY HARD AT THIS MOMENT TO GET THAT FOR YOU. >> NO, THE LEADERSHIP CAMP 1 SAYS THAT EVERY SCHOOL WERE APPROVED FOR 10 STUDENTS. AND IT SAYS FH JUST WILL BE COVERING EXPENSES OF 540 PER STUDENT. AND THEN ANOTHER OLYMPUS CENTER CAMP 1. THAT'S JUST TELLING US WHAT IS THIS ALL ABOUT. >> SO THIS IS THE SAME THING. I DIDN'T KNOW. >> MAYBE IN WITH ONE DOCUMENT. >> I JUST REMEMBER, IT HAS HELP TO HAVE THAT STUFF LIKE THERE. >> SO THAT'S WHY IT DOES GO ON AN ADDED TIME AND I KNOW THAT CRYSTALS TAKES ABOUT THREE DAYS PRIOR. SO IF ANYTHING LIKE THAT COMES UP, JUST GIVE US A CALL AND WE WILL GET THE PERSON WHO IS PUT FORWARD TO GIVE YOU A CALL BACK, PROMISE. >> LET'S SEE WHAT ELSE. I HAD QUESTION BUT I DON'T KNOW THE [INAUDIBLE]. [NOISE] >> SOMEBODY CHECK FOR BELLINGHAM ABOUT [INAUDIBLE] WALKING AND JUST PLANTED CONTRACT. IF I WROTE ALL COSTS ON THAT, IS THERE AGAIN WHERE INFORMATION WHICH I WISH I HAD MY AAC, ALL PEOPLE ALL NICE. THAT THAT WAS THE EMERGENCY MEDICAL YOUR LUNGS AGO. IS THAT IN ALL FAIRNESS? WE DO THAT EMERGENCY RESOLUTION. SO I MEAN, THAT'S NOT GOING TO BUY OH, YEAH. YEAH. I JUST WANT TO JUST ADDITIONAL INFORMATION THAT I SEE. WHEN THE SCHOOL WAS. I UNDERSTAND YOUR TIME CONSTRAINTS. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT IT? SHOOT US AN EMAIL AND WE'LL PULL THEIR INFORMATION OR MAKE THE VICTIM FOR THE LOOKOUT WHEREVER YOU WANT. AND THEN I WANT US TO JUST GO BACK. I JUST WANTED TO UNDERSTAND THE SUPER HEADED CONSENT AGENDA. IS THE ENTIRE ORGANIZATION WHO NEED SAINTS FOR THE BOARD TO PASS ON POLICY. THIS IS WHERE I'M SITTING, BUT SO IS THE WORK OF MANY NAME, A FEW. [02:30:04] HEY, MARK TWAIN SPRAYED AND YOU CAN EVEN JUST E-MAIL ME DIRECTLY. AND THEN I WILL WORK WITH GRANTS OR THE ADRESS ACTUALLY AS YOUR ADMIN ASSISTANT AND THEN SHE WILL WORK AND EVENTUALLY THEY'LL GET AN EMAIL RESPONSE BACK THAT SHE'LL TAKE CARE OR CALL THAT. IT WOULD TAKE US A COUPLE OF DAYS. THAT'S WHY THE THREE DAYS THAT WAY JUST MAKE SURE BECAUSE WE WANT TO EAT LAWS YOUNGSTERS AND SHE WAS KINDA WANT TO REMOVE. SO WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY? BECAUSE I WAS SAYING EARLIER. SO THE LAST THING IS, IS AN EDITOR OR A PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY. I FEEL LIKE THIS IS SOMETHING THAT I FEEL VERY SOFTLY, YOU KNOW, HIRES DIRECTOR OF POSITIONPOSITION FOR US. IT'S CREATED MOST OF THE CENTER AND WE CHANGE IT ONE AND BEEN TALKING ABOUT THIS. ALL YOUR ROOM. CAME OUT OF MY MEETINGS WITH UNION LEADERSHIP, STAFF, STUDENTS, FAMILIES. UNIVERSALLY, THIS POSITION WAS ONE THAT HAD SEEN IT. AND I WILL TELL YOU, I HAD A FOOT IN TWO DIFFERENT SYSTEMS HERE. AND WHEN I WAS IN ANOTHER DISTRICT, I DO CALL COMMUNITY PARTNERS AND SAY, HEY, I NEED SOME SUPPORT OR MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT FOR STUDENT A. AND B HAS THE LOCATION OF THAT DISTRICT. I WAS ABLE TO GET I CALL A HALL THIS YEAR. I TRIED TO SET THOSE THINGS UP HE HAS GRABBED THE COUNTY. YOU DO NOT HAVE A MEDICAL FACILITY RIGHT HERE WHERE HE DIDN'T CARE OR PARTNERING WITH LUMMI EITHER OUR HEALTH, WE HAVE HAD AN EMPTY POSITIONS ALL HERE. SO THIS IS A PERSON IN THE VIDEO, BUT THE NUMBER OF PROVIDING ASSESSMENTS WE DO, THE NUMBER AND THAT WOULD INCLUDE A STUDENT WHO IS SAYING THAT THEY ARE GOING TO HARM THEMSELVES. THAT CANNOT BE PUT ON THE MASS OF OUR CLASSROOM TEACHERS. AND WHERE WE HAD A CHILD AND CRISIS, WE NEED TO ATTEND GO-GETTER FAMILY WHO'S IN CRISIS. THE MEDIAL GOES ON. SO THIS IS SOMEBODY WHO'S AN EXPERT IN THAT AREA. AND IF WE DON'T ADDRESS IT, MY FEAR IS THAT WE'RE GOING TO SEE A LOT MORE SITUATIONS WHERE HAVE WE SEEN THIS YEAR? AND I DON'T WANT SO I, I PERSONALLY FEEL VERY STRONGLY ABOUT IT BECAUSE I KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU HAVE A ROBUST MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT SYSTEM, BUT IT WAS THE NUMBER ONE FROM BEFORE. AND I'M LOOKING OVER AT SUNDAY IT FOR ME FOR WHEN I GOT HERE, IF THIS WAS A NUMBER ONE, ASKS FOR OUR STAFF BECAUSE THEY WANT TO TEACH KIDS HOW TO READ AND WRITE AND DO NOW. AND WHAT THEY'RE SPENDING THEIR TIME DOING IS TRYING TO HELP STUDENTS MANAGE THE EXECUTIVE FUNCTION SKILLS AND HOW TO OUTSIDE AGENCIES. STUDENTS THE YOUNGEST. SO THIS IS THE CONVERSATION THAT WE SHOULDN'T HAVE IF YOU PICK UP ALL YOUR ITINERARY? MIGHT BE. DURING MY ONE-HALF DAYS. I SHARED IT DURING MY INTERVIEW PLAN PROCESS. I KNOW TEACHERS HAVE COME FORWARD AND ASK FOR I. SO THIS IS WHY I ACTUALLY FEEL THEM AND MAYBE THE RESERVOIR I FEEL LIKE I'M LACKING IN THIS, BUT IT'S ONE THAT I THINK I'VE BEEN BREATHING ON A REGULAR BASIS. SO MOST PATIENTS WITH STROKE AND A HIGHER-UP POSITION. SO 11 WATERFALL SILLY. AND HE REALLY DID CREATE THE MINUTES. IS THAT SOMEONE WHO CAN WORK DIRECTLY WITH OUR COUNSELORS ARE DRUG AND ALCOHOL, WHEREAS BE ABLE TO DO THOSE PREDECESSORS AND TREAT THEM. I HAVE SOMETHING ADDITIONAL DATA, BUT IT ISN'T AN ADMINISTRATIVE POSITION BECAUSE WE WANT THEM TO HAVE ADMINISTRATIVE OVERSIGHT. BECAUSE OTHERWISE, YOU KNOW, IF YOU HAVE A CLASSROOM TEACHER POSITION AND THEY GO IN AND THEY DON'T HAVE THAT EXPERTISE, THEN THEY HAVE TO SIT AND WAIT FOR SOMEONE ELSE AND THERE IS SOMEONE WHO AREN'T NECESSARILY WE ALL EXPERIENCE. BUT HONESTLY WHAT SARA LEE, THAT LEVEL OF EXPERTISE, I DON'T KNOW WHAT WITCH DOCTORS TO CALL OR HAVING A PARTY OR HOW DID YOU ADDRESS? SO THIS IS SOMETHING THAT I 0 EXPERTISE. [02:35:03] SO WHEN YOU GET SOMEONE AT THAT LEVEL, THEN YOU WANT THEM TO ASK THAT ARE ALREADY OVER TO THE DECISION. AND AGAIN, THE WORD CHAIR IS THAT PERSON FIT INTO THE OVERALL EMPLOYEE ASKING WILL SAY FREE IF YOU'RE HIRING THIS PERSON, THAT DOES THAT MEAN YOU HAVE THE EXTRA HELP WHEN IT COMES TO DEALING WITH DRUG AND ALCOHOL SITUATIONS ON THE GROUND PEOPLE IS THIS IS THIS GOING TO BE, YOU KNOW, KIND OF SITUATION WHERE WE'VE GOT WE DON'T HAVE RESOURCES TAB, WE'RE WORKING. I HOPE YOU'VE HEARD ME SAY SYSTEMS ARE BUILT IN PEOPLE FOR THE PEOPLE. AND SO THE OTHER PART IS NOT ON YOUR CHART BECAUSE IT'S IN THE BUILDING, IS EVERY BUILDING WILL HAVE A PERSON WHO IS DESIGNATED AROUND THE BEHAVIORAL SUPPORTS. WE'RE GETTING TRAINING OR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CALENDAR BECAUSE WE WORK. SO IF THERE'S A CRISIS IN SLOW, YOU'RE GOING TO SEE ALL OF THIS OUT THERE. BUT WE SAW THEM AT A HIGH LEVEL OF EXPERTISE TO BE ABLE TO DO THAT WORK AS WELL. AND THEN THAT PERSON GOES OUT AND SURVEYS TRAINING TOWEL. SO IT'S NOT JUST RESPONDING, IT'S ALSO THE PROACTIVE WORK AS WELL. SO WHEREVER THE BILLING SYSTEMS RIGHT NOW, THIS IS A REACTION, ALLOWS SYSTEMS HAVING COMING OUT OF COVID. I THINK THAT'S BEEN AROUND FOR AWHILE AND ARE HIRED, WE NEED TO START GETTING GOING UPSTREAM AND LUCKY INSTEAD OF ALWAYS LOOKING AT HOW WE PREVENT THEM, MY MIND, EMPLOYEES, DOLLAR SIGNS MEAN HE SAID, YOU KNOW WHAT, WE GOT RID OF THINGS, WE REORGANIZE, WE'RE MAKING DECISIONS. WE'RE MAKING DECISIONS AND ARE NOT BASED ON JUST THE PROBLEM IN FRONT OF IT. SO IT'S NOT ACTUALLY ALREADY USING FRONT OF ME AND WITH OUR ATTENTION AS WE'RE KIND OF SITTING DOWN AND GETTING TO KNOW THAT IT WILL BE REALLY HELPFUL. BECAUSE FOR TASK OR NOT TO DO THIS, WE HAVE TO START RESPONDING TO SOME OF THESE SITUATIONS. WE WANT OUR STUDENTS TO GO OUT AND WE'VE GOT TO ADDRESS THE WHOLE TIME. YOU GOT TO DRESS, SUPPORT, FAMILY. CAN YOU JUST HAVE STUDENTS SHOW UP AND BE READY TO READ IF THEIR MENTAL HEALTH IS NOT READY. AND SO IT'S HOW YOU ARE DECISIONS BEING A TRADE MARK ONE IS YOUR ONE ANYWAY, SAY WHEN GETTING UP SO WE'RE CONSTANTLY HAVING THOSE CONVERSATIONS. WELL, THEN, YOU KNOW, MADE AN EFFORT TO KEEP FINANCES, MOTOR CONTROL, AND I APPRECIATE THAT. I REALLY HOPE YOU HAVE A REPUTATION GOING FORWARD AND SAYING, OKAY, YOU DON'T NEED THIS OR CINCO RAISE TAXES BECAUSE HONESTLY, THE EXHAUSTION IS OUT THERE WITH THE COST OF LEAVING GROUP IS RIGHT NOW, WE'RE REALLY CONCERNED ABOUT MAKING THESE DECISIONS AND OCCUPY SOUTHEAST, OUR CONVERSATIONS WE'RE HAVING AS AN EXECUTIVE TEAM OR CONVERSATIONS WITH RIFLES. AND THEN HAVING GONE OUT TO SCHOOLS, TEACHERS ALL THE TIME, I SIT WITH STUDENTS ALL THE TIME. STUDENTS ARE ASKING FOR INFLOW OF RESOURCES. SO THIS POSITION REPRESENTS THE VOICE OF MANY, HEY MAN, I CAN'T WAIT TO ME CRAZY AND SEND SOME TIME TO GET TO KNOW WHAT HE'S GOING TO BE ABLE TO HELP. WHEREAS THE 70S, SOME OF THEM DIDN'T PRESENT. THE LONG LIST OF PEOPLE THAT OVULATES. YOU PRESENT THIS AFTERNOON WITH A PANEL OF EXPERTS. SOME HOPEFULLY WE CAN GET A C BECAUSE I'M PRETTY SURE GRAND CAYMAN WAS LIKE IT WAS REALLY KIND OF HARD GREAT. LISTENER ASKED FOR EXTRA HELP TO MEET THE HINGES THAT ARE WAITING IN LINE FOR THINGS THAT ARE REALLY CRUCIAL. THAT TAKES BUILDING A NEW SYSTEM. WE HEARD ABOUT THEM OR COLLECT COMMONERS TALK TONIGHT ABOUT RE-IMAGINING THE SYSTEM. EXACTLY WHAT WE'RE WORKING. >> ON TOP OF THAT WE HAVE TINY PIECES TO INPUT ON A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL DAY. I KNOW, MANY PEOPLE WHO HAVEN'T ONLY FELT SUPPORTED BY A SCHOOL DISTRICT AND PROFESSIONALS IN THE DISTRICT. [02:40:02] THEY'VE TURN TO FRIENDS AND FELLOW STUDENTS WHO ARE OFTEN UNQUALIFIED NON NECESSARILY MENTAL STABLE ENOUGH THEMSELVES TO DO THE HEALTH THING. IT HAS RESULTED IN A LOT OF UNPLEASANT SITUATIONS AND A LOT OF EMOTIONAL FROZE SCENARIOS AND A LOT OF PLAGUE NIGHTS WHERE NOBODY SHOULD HAVE THEIR FRIENDS GOING TO COME OUT OF THE SITUATION ALIVE. IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF STUDENTS, I WOULD DEFINITELY GIVE MY ADVISORY VOTE FOR MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS. >> WELL. [OVERLAPPING] >> I'M NOT SAYING WE DON'T NEED THE MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS COUNSEL ABSOLUTELY WE DO. BUT JUST WONDERING WHAT IF WHAT WE'RE ALSO THE QUESTION CAME FROM [OVERLAPPING] [INAUDIBLE] ADMINISTRATIVE NOT HANDS A LOT OR IS THIS NICE NOW. >> YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS POSITION OUT THERE TO IOWA WITHOUT TALKING TO THE STAFF FIRST. THIS DIDN'T JUST SHOW UP ON JOB ORDER. IT WAS WELL AND I'M SORRY THAT YOU DIDN'T HEAR THAT BEING THIS YEAR FOR ME, BECAUSE I IN MY MIND I WAS COMMUNICATING THAT THIS WAS A NEED. BUT, SO THAT'S GOOD DATA FOR ME. >> AS FAR AS BEING A DIRECTOR, FOR BEING HANDS-ON IT'S NOT AN EITHER OR QUESTION IS YOU CAN BE A HAND AND I THINK ONE THING THAT I, IT'S NOT JUST CHRISTIE, WHO WAS ALL OVER THE DISTRICT. OR DOCTOR DOMINGUE WHO'S ALL OVER THE DISTRICT. IF YOU GO INTO THE SCHOOLS AND THEN YOU GO TO THE THINGS I'VE SEEN KELLIE MANY TIMES, I DREAM MANY TIMES. THEY'RE ALL HANDS ON, I THINK I SEE EVERYBODY HERE. YES. I HAVE SEEN EVERYBODY HERE MULTIPLE TIMES AT SCHOOL DISTRICT THINGS. I DON'T THINK IF THE DIRECTOR THAT SITS IN AN OFFICE AND IS IN THAT BUILDING ON THE HILL WOULD SURVIVE THAT LONG IN DOCTOR MAYSIS ADMINISTRATION. >> NO THEY OKAY. [OVERLAPPING] >> GOOD. >> NO, THEY WORK IN OUR, WE'RE WORKING OURSELVES. WE WORK FOR KIDS AND STUFF >> I KNOW THE JOB DESCRIPTION WAS OUT THERE AND I DIDN'T GRAB, USUALLY I LIKE A SCREENSHOT, THAT'S WHAT I KNOW OF SOMEBODY ASKS ME AND BUT AGAIN, AS I SAID WAS THERE AND THEN THIS PERSON IS ASKING THIS QUESTION I THOUGHT THAT IS IMPORTANT. [OVERLAPPING]. >> THEY ASKED ME. I LOVED TO MAKE A COMMUNITY MEMBERS. I LOVE TO MAKE A STAFF. IF ANYONE IS ASKING THOSE QUESTIONS, JUST REALLY, TELL THEM HAVE YOU TALKED TO CHRISTY. >> I'M PRETTY SURE YOU SENT OUT AN EMAIL [INAUDIBLE]. >> I DON'T REMEMBER SAYING THAT. SO I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THAT. >> ANY OTHER QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS ON THE CONTENTION? OKAY. THEN WE WILL GO AHEAD AND VOTE IN PERSON. OH, YOU KNOW, ALL THE QUALIFICATIONS FOR ONE FOR C. RIGHT. I HAD A QUESTION ON THAT BECAUSE YOU TALK ABOUT SPECIFIC HELLO LITTLE GIRL, GUY OR LAND FOR HIS APPLICATION AS A TRANSITIONAL BILINGUAL INSTRUCTION? OR IS THERE A WAY THAT WE BORDERS AND SEE WHAT THE GRANT APPLICATIONS ARE? SOME OF THESE NOODLES PROBABLY A LOT. BUT IS THERE A PLACE THAT YOU CAN GO GRAB IT? YOU JUST ONLY SEE WHAT THEY REQUIRE VERY LESS. SO, YOU KNOW, IT'S JUST READING THROUGH THAT LIST OF THINGS THAT I RAN US OFF IN ORDER TO APPLY FOR THIS INTEGRAL. BUT THOSE ARE GENERAL. AND IF YOU ARE, YEAH, I EVER BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO HAVE US LOOK AT SOME OF US. SO ANYTIME THE QUESTION WAS, WERE THERE SPECIFIC CAN CAN DILUTE IT OUT AND SEE, YOU KNOW. SO THEY DON'T WANT TO JUST SAY, WELL, YOU KNOW, IF I'M RELATING ISD, DON'T WANT TO, BUT I'M MORE THAN HAPPY TO SHARE. THEY SHARE A LOT OF YOUR PIECES THAT WE'VE LIVED IN PLACE. IT'S DATA WE PULL UP. [02:45:04] I'M JUST HITTING ALL OF THE PIECES ARE IT'S NOT A LIAR B TO E. THERE'S A LOT OF I WROTE THINGS THAT ARE MANAGING DIFFERENT PEOPLE ARE READY TO HER CARSON IT SO YEAH. SOMEONE WE LOVE THIS FROM JUST NOT TOUGH SCHOOLS NOW, BUT SOME OTHER KIND OF SITUATION WHERE LIKE A CITY WITH NECESSARILY MAKE A BURGER FOR SOMETHING LIKE A POLICE, STATE AND FEDERAL PROGRAMS AND THEY OPTIMIZE, MATCH UP WITH THE LAWS AND THE APP DOESN'T MATCH UP WITH YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND YOUR STUDENT POPULATION AND RE-ENERGIZE FORMATION. YOU'RE LOOKING AT RACE DEMOGRAPHIC DATA. AND I KNOW THAT THERE ARE REQUIREMENTS THAT YOU HAVE TO BE ORDERED TO A LOT OF THINGS. BUT AT THE SAME TIME, IF YOU WANTED TO GRANT APPLICATION AND THE TERMS OF GETTING RED OR YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO DO MUCH EXTRA STUFF THAT MIGHT COST YOU LET IT DOWN THE ROAD. DO YOU EVER LISTEN DOWN AND LOOK AT THEM? SOMETIMES THE IGNITING THE GRAPHS THAT ARE RAN BY HER RIGHTS ARE VERY DIFFERENT. THIS TIME. THIS IS HOW WE ACCESS. SEEING HERE ON THE OCS WEBSITE, THERE ARE HE SAYS TITLE GRANTS AND RISK MANAGEMENT. SO THAT IS A SUMMARY PARAGRAPH SAID VERY HOT. THERE ARE TWO LINKS. AND ONE OF THEM IT SAYS REVIEW HOLISTIC FEDERAL GRANTS. AND IF YOU CLICK ON THAT AND YOU SEE IT A DISTRICT THAT BRAD SAID, YOU COULDN'T LOOK AT IT AS A DISTRICT TO DETERMINE ELIGIBILITY. SO THAT IS WHAT WE WOULD DO. OKAY. AND THEN WHERE DO YOU FIND THE LIST OF REST OF BLUEGRASS? BUT YEAH. YOU CAN WELL, MAYBE WE CAN SIT DOWN WITH A NEW TRACKS, ALL THOSE. >> THANK YOU. ANYTHING ELSE? ANY OTHER COMMENTS ON THE CONSENT AGENDA? SEEING NONE, WE'LL GO AHEAD AND RECEIVE A VOTE ON BOTH THE CONSENT AGENDA SUPERINTENDENTS AND THE BOARD'S CONSENT AGENDAS. I WILL START OUT BY GETTING INTO THE ADVISORY VOTE FROM GABBY, ASK WHETHER SHE WILL VOTE FIRST TO APPROVE OR TO REJECT THE CONSENT AGENDA? >> I'M GOING TO THAT STATE OF THE VOTES. I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH INFORMATION ON MOST OF THE SUBJECTS. >> THAT'S TOTALLY FAIR, THANK YOU. I WILL LIVE FORTH THE VOTE DOWN TO THE ELECTED BOARD MEMBERS IN REGARDS TO ALL THOSE IN FAVOR OF ADOPTING THE SUPERINTENDENT AND BOARD CONSENT AGENDAS AS ATTACHED HERE TO MARKING THE DEPARTMENT IN FAVOR SAY AYE. >> AYE >> ALL OPPOSED? >> NO. >> ANY ABSTENTIONS? THE CONSENT AGENDA PASSES ON A 4O1 VOTE. THAT GOES AHEAD AND BRINGS US TO THE SHARING PORTION OF THE MEETING AND SO I'LL GO AHEAD AND START THE ELECTED BOARD SHARING. I'LL TURN IT OVER TO TAMI IF SHE HAS ANYTHING TO SHARE. [BACKGROUND] [12. SHARING [GC-7.E}] >> THIS YEAR WE WRAPPED UP PRETTY GOOD FOR MY SON. HE HAD A STRUGGLE IN THE BEGINNING TO GET BACK INTO THE ROUTINE THINGS THAT HE IS FINALLY GETTING USED TO IT, SORT OF NEW BUT NOW I'M CELEBRATING. I'M GOING TO DO SOMETHING, I'M KEEPING BUSY. I DO APPRECIATE THE CHANGES IN LEARNING, IT'S MORE HANDS-ON, HE TOO A LANGUAGE CLASS, OR ORAL STUDIES. AT THE END OF THE CLASS THEY WERE COOKING AND IT'S A BIG MOVIE. THEY HAD TO SAMPLE ALL THE CULTURES THAT WE'RE LEARNING. I THINK THAT WILL PROBABLY RETAIN THEM A LOT BETTER. I APPRECIATE THAT AS A PARENT. THE WAY I SHARED THAT WITH PEDDY, IT'S BEEN AWESOME THAT YOU'VE USED IT IN THESE WORKS. BUT OTHER THAN THAT, I THINK IT WAS A GREAT YEAR FOR HIM. >> THANK YOU. >> STEVE? >> SPEECHLESS. [LAUGHTER] NO, I DIDN'T HAVE THAT COMMENT. I WAS ASKED ABOUT SOME MOVING BANDS OVER NORTH BELT. DID ANYBODY FILL ME IN ON WHAT THAT WAS ABOUT? >> IF YOU REMEMBER, ANYTHING ELSE? [02:50:04] DISCOVERY WHICH HAS BEEN OVER HERE, IS MOVING TO NORTH BELT AND THE DEVELOPMENTAL PRESCHOOLS ARE MOVING HERE. THEN THE TEACHING PROGRAMS, REMEMBER, ARE GOING OUT TO THEIR HOMES SCHOOLS. IT'S THAT WHAT IT IS, IT'S NOT CHANGED. >> IS THAT THE GOAL THING, OR IS IT A BUILDING THING? OR? >> IT'S JUST A PROGRAM SWITCH. DISCOVERY, WHICH WE HOUSED CURRENTLY HERE, IS GOING TO BE HOUSED AT NORTH BELT. THE ECAP PROGRAMS ARE CURRENTLY HERE, IT WILL STAY HERE. THEN OUR YOUNGER STUDENTS WHO ARE ACTUALLY ON THE BUS ALONG THE STRIKE DOWN BECAUSE THEY COME FROM ALL OVER. THEY'RE GOING OUT TO NORTH BELT, WILL BE COMING HERE AND THEY'LL BE FOUR SESSIONS, IS THAT CORRECT? FOUR SESSIONS AND MOST OF OUR PROGRAMS WILL BE GOING OUT TO THEIR OWN SCHOOLS THAT ARE CURRENTLY HOUSED IN NORTH BELT, SO I MEAN THESE KIDS ARE GETTING BACK INTO THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD SCHOOLS. >> IT'S JUST A LITTLE BELT? >> IT'S JUST A SWITCH, AND A LOT OF CLEANING STUFF THAT WE ABSOLUTELY DO NOT NEED TO KEEP, SO A LITTLE BIT PURGING AT THE SAME. TIME YOU'LL SEE IT GO THROUGH ON THE SIDE HERE, SAME THING. >> THANK YOU. >> PEDDY? >> I'VE GOT NOTHING ELSE TO SAY OTHER THAN; AS I SAID, WE BOTH DID A TALK ON THIS THING, WE ALL REACHED FROM IT. I THINK IT WAS A VERY INTERESTING. HOPEFULLY, WE CAN GET THE PRESENTATION, IF THEY RECORDED IT, FOR PEOPLE WATCH IT. IT'S LONG AND THERE'S A LOT OF PEOPLE PRESENTING FROM ALL DIFFERENT WALKS OF LIFE. THERE ARE DRUG PROGRAMS I HAD NO IDEA EXISTED. IT'S QUITE EDUCATIONAL. >> MELINDA? >> I'VE GOT THREE THINGS AND I WILL TRY TO MAKE THIS AS FAST AS I CAN. FIRST I WANT TO WELCOME GABBY AS OUR STUDENT BOARD MEMBER SITTING NEXT TO HER. HOW PAGES OF NOTES DID YOU TAKE? THERE'S FIVE IN THIS SPACE. >> ONE, 2,3 AND A HALF. >> THE BOARD ASSESSMENT, I'VE SEEN HER PUTTING STUFF ON AND NOTES AND CHANGING, AND [INAUDIBLE], WE GO TO BE ON OUR TOES, BECAUSE I THINK GABBY IS TAKING NOTES, LITERALLY [LAUGHTER]. SECOND THING. WE TALKED A LITTLE BIT ABOUT LEGISLATIVE REC DOES AND THINGS AROUND HERE AND THERE ARE STATE LAWS AND HOW DO YOU MAINTAIN THOSE STATE LAWS. ONE WAY TO DO THAT IS THROUGH LEGISLATIVE REP, WATSON, ALL THAT. OUR REGULAR POLICY IS THAT IN JULY OF EVEN YEARS, WE ASSIGN SOMEBODY TO BE THE LEGISLATIVE REP FOR TWO YEARS. THAT WOULD BE NEXT JULY, WHICH I'M NOT GOING TO BE HERE. ALTHOUGH IT'S UP TO THE REST OF THE BOARD, I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU CHOOSE THE LEGISLATIVE REP SOON BECAUSE I'LL BE STEPPING DOWN FROM IT, SO NEXT MONTH, LEGISLATIVE REP, THINK ABOUT IT. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, LET ME KNOW OR YOU CAN LOOK IT UP ONLINE OR WHAT HAVE YOU. I THINK DOING THAT NOW WILL HELP THE NEW LEGISLATIVE REP GO THROUGH THAT PROCESS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND WHAT ARE THE PRIORITIES AND WHAT ARE OUR PRIORITIES AND BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS, AND BLAH BLAH BLAH. IT'S NOT JUST ONE DAY IN FEBRUARY. THEN MY FINAL THING THAT I WANTED TO SHARE WAS; LAST MONTH WE HAD A PRESENTATION ABOUT TEEN COUNCIL, WHERE IT IS PEER SEXUAL EDUCATION. BOTH PEGGY AND I ARE INTERESTED IN SEEING A SAMPLE CLASS, WHICH WE DID GET A SAMPLE CLASS LAST FRIDAY. BEFORE THAT, JUST A COUPLE DAYS AFTER OUR MEETING, I JUST DID IT ON A 7TH-GRADE CLASS, THAT WAS ABOUT REFUSAL SKILLS. I SAW THAT A CLASS THAT WAS TAUGHT BY A TEACHER, AND THEN THE SAMPLE CLASS, WHICH WAS DONE AT THE DISTRICT OFFICE FOR PEDDY AND I, THERE WERE STUDENTS THERE. PEDDY, MYSELF, THE TWO TEEN COUNSEL, PEER REVIEWERS, A TEEN COUNCIL STUDENT WHO'S NOT YET TRAINED, AND THEN TWO SUPERVISORS OF TEEN COUNCILS. A FEW OF THE POSITIVES THAT I SAW IN THAT, THE MEETING LEADERS SKILLS, THERE WERE THINGS THAT STUDENTS DID LEADING UP [02:55:04] THAT MEETING THAT COME UP IN PROFESSIONAL TRAININGS; GETTING BUY-IN, WHAT'S THE AGREEMENTS FOR THE MEETING? CAN WE ALL LIVE WITH THIS? WHEN YOU HAVE DISAGREEMENTS, HOW ARE YOU GOING TO GO OVER THAT? TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF, ALL THOSE THINGS WERE LIKE, I'M GETTING THIS IN MY LEADERSHIP TRAINING. THEY ARE DOING THIS SEAMLESSLY. ANOTHER THING THAT THEY DID, THEY HAD GREAT OPENNESS AND SENSITIVITY TO OTHER VIEWPOINTS. THERE WERE A COUPLE OF EXAMPLES WHERE BOTH PEDDY AND I DISAGREED WITH WHAT THEY SAID. I THINK THEY MET THOSE DISAGREEMENTS WITH ACKNOWLEDGMENT, RESPECT FOR WHAT SHE SAID, THEY DIDN'T ARGUE IT, THEY DIDN'T IGNORE IT, THEY ACKNOWLEDGED WHAT YOU SAID. IT'S A DIFFERENT VIEWPOINT, WHICH I THINK IS VERY HELPFUL ESPECIALLY IN SOMETHING THAT THERE'S LOTS OF DIFFERENT VALUES AND SUCH THAT CAME INTO IT. THEY WERE EXTREMELY PREPARED, THE TEAM COUNCIL PEER MEMBERS GET 50 HOURS OF TRAINING BEFORE THEY GO INTO A CLASSROOM, THAT'S MORE THAN SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS HAVE IN AN ENTIRE FOUR-YEAR TERM, SO LOT'S OF TRAINING. ALSO, GETTING INTO THE PROGRAM IS HIGHLY COMPETITIVE, SO THE PEOPLE THAT ARE SELECTED INTO IT AND DO THAT TRAIN AND SMALL TALKING WITH THEM WHILE THEY WERE GETTING THE COMPUTER GOING, I DON'T THINK ANYBODY COULD ARGUE THAT THESE KIDS DO HAVE IT ALL TOGETHER. ANOTHER THING THAT THEY HAD, AND THIS IS A DIFFERENCE FROM WATCHING THE 7TH-GRADE CLASS WITH THE TEACHER. PEER LEADERS HAVE THE PERSPECTIVE THAT A TEENAGER AND WHAT'S LIKE TO BE A TEENAGER RIGHT NOW. A LOT OF OUR INSTRUCTORS HAVE MORE OF THE PERSPECTIVE OF OUR PARENTS. I THINK THAT PERSPECTIVE OF BEING A TEENAGER RIGHT NOW WHAT THAT MEANS HAS A LOT OF VALUE. INSTEAD BEFORE OPENNESS AND SENSITIVITY THEY HAD RESPECT FOR DIFFERENT VIEWS. ANOTHER THING I WAS THINKING, IS THAT'S PRETTY EVERYTHING. PEER PRESSURE. THERE WAS A COMMENT BY ONE OF THE SUPERVISORS THAT SHE HAD SAID WHEN SHE HAS DONE CONDUCTING ON TEAM COUNCIL, I WAS ON TEAM COUNCIL AND SHE WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL. SHE REMEMBERS BEING IN A CLASS WHERE THE PEERS CAME IN AND SEEING THIS IS LIKE PEER PRESSURE COOKIES WITH THESE COOL STUDENTS ARE DOING. THESE ARE COOL KIDS. WHAT THESE SCHOOL STUDENTS WERE DOING, WERE TEACHING THEM ABOUT CONSENT AND TAKING AGENCY OF THEIR OWN BODY AND DECIDING WHAT I'M GOING TO DO, WHEN I'M NOT GOING TO DO? IT'S AGENCY AND MYSELF AS A TEENAGER, I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE REST OF YOU, BUT THE PEER PRESSURE WAS MODELING THAT DIRECTION. THE PEER PRESSURE WASN'T IN THE DIRECTION OF, ON YOURSELF AND BEING IN CONTROL. IT WAS LIKE OBVIOUSLY GOT TO OPEN TO OTHER PEOPLE INVITATION. I THINK HAVING THAT YOU'RE LEAD CLASSES ON CONSENT. IF WE CAN CREATE PEER PRESSURE WHERE CONSENT OF LIKE, NO, I DECIDE. THAT'S A GOOD THING. FINALLY, THE LAST THING IS, SO WHEN YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT CONSENT AND DIFFERENT PEOPLE HAVING DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES IN THEIR LIFE, IT MIGHT BE THAT THERE'S GOING TO BE SOMEBODY IN THE ROOM WHO HAS HAD A TREMENDOUS EXPERIENCE. WHEN YOU HAVE A PURE LEAD CLASS, YOU'VE GOT THE FERNDALE OR YOU GOT A TEACHER, THE SCHOOL DISTRICT TEACHER, AND CLASSMATES AND ALSO HAD THE SUPERVISOR OF THOSE PEER TEACHERS. YOU HAVE TWO ADULTS IN THE CLASSROOM WHO ARE NOT DOING THE TEACHING, BUT CAN BE WATCHING THE ROOM, SCAN THE ROOM, LISTENING TO ONE OF THOSE QUESTIONS ARE, OR WERE THOSE QUESTIONS ETC. I THINK THAT COULD ALSO BE A BENEFIT IN RATHER THAN HAVING ONE TEACHER TEACHING TO THE 20-30 KIDS IN THE CLASS. IF SOMEBODY IS HAVING A BAD EXPERIENCE AND ASK, WHAT DOES THAT TEACHER, HOW CAN I SURELY HAVE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TO MEET HIM HOW TO DO THIS? BUT IT'S JUST LIKE, HOW DO YOU TEACH A CLASS AT THE SAME TIME AND SOMEBODY IS HAVING A VERY ROUGH TIME? HAVING AN ADULT IN THE ROOM WHO'S NOT TEACHING THAT CAN TAKE CARE OF THAT STUDENT, I THINK COULD BE ABOUT IT AS WELL. THAT'S MY THOUGHTS ON THE TEAM COUNCIL, [03:00:06] SESSION OF THE SAW AND I WOULD LOVE IT IF FERNDALE SCHOOL DISTRICT WILL CONTINUE TO CONSIDER THAT ESPECIALLY THE CONSENT. THEY'RE THREE DIFFERENT TYPE OF CLASSES THEY DO, THE CONSENT ONE, WELL I THINK IT'S SOMETHING THAT CAN REALLY BENEFIT OUR STUDENTS. >> I WILL EVER DECIDE THAT THE GOOD JOB AND THAT THERE'S VALUE IN WHAT THEY'RE TEACHING. I PERSONALLY FELT THERE WAS A LOT OF OVERLAP WITH WHAT WE ALREADY OFFERED AND THINKING ABOUT OTHER POSSIBLE WAYS THAT PEOPLE COULD ACCESS THAT INFORMATION IF THEY WANTED TO, FROM THAT SOURCE ON THAT, SO I'M NOT NECESSARILY INTERVIEW BUT I WILL AGREE THAT THEY'RE DOING A GOOD JOB. >> I THINK THIS IS SOMETHING SINCE IT'S NOT ON OUR TOPIC OR INTENDED FOR DISCUSSION IN HERE, I JUST FOUND OUT YOU GUYS HAD ACTUALLY HAD, I KNEW YOU WILL THINK ABOUT REGISTER HER OUT ON THE AGENDA. THIS MONTH'S AGENDA CHRISTINA WHERE WERE WE TALKING ABOUT THAT SO THAT THEN WE CAN HAVE A FULL DISCUSSION AND IT'S NOT EVERYONE? >> CHRIS, I HAD ASKED CHRISTINA, OH I DON'T SEE THAT AGENDA. [INAUDIBLE] SHE IS SAD THAT YOU'RE HAVING A TEACHER INPUT ON US? [INAUDIBLE] YES. DEFINITELY. THAT NEEDS MORE DISCUSSION. >> I DIDN'T HAVE ANYTHING PARTICULAR TO SHARE AT THIS POINT, SO WITH THAT, WE'LL MOVE ON TO OUR MEETING EVALUATION AND THAT WILL TURN OVER TO GABBY IN HER NOTES WHICH LOOK SCARY. [LAUGHTER]. >> FOR THE MOST PART MY NOTES IN THE NOTEBOOK, WHERE THESE THINGS I WANTED TO DISCUSS. CLOUD ACTRESSES, HE WASN'T HERE JUST REALLY COVERED. [13. MEETING EVALUATION SURVEY] BUT I DO HAVE A CLUB THIS PAPER AND WHILE SOME OF THIS THAT ARE SOME DAY, NOT SO MUCH. I THINK I'M JUST GOING GO DOWN TABLE AND REDUCING INDIVIDUAL IN LIFE OUT ABOUT IT. I DIDN'T READ THAT FOR THE MOST PART. HE KNOWS REALLY WELL IN ORDER TO ROCKWELL PEOPLE SEEM CAUGHT UP IN READINGS AND THE AGENDA WHICH LAY OUT THE WAY ANY SENSE, ALTHOUGH THEY WERE NECESSARY DOESN'T HAVE SATURDAY. I GAVE YOU GUYS NEED STANDARD REALLY GOOD. THE NEXT ONE IS, BUT ALSO A COMPLIMENT AND I PROMISE THIS IS ALL UPHILL FROM HERE, [LAUGHTER] BUT IT IS BOREDOM, OBESITY, NOT INTERRUPT EACH OTHER AND CONTRIBUTED TO THE MEETING. WHILE YOU READ THAT, BOARD MEMBERS STATE CONTRIBUTES TO THE MEETING. THERE WERE A LOT OF OPTIONS. THERE WERE MULTIPLE INSTANCES OF PEOPLE SPEAKING OVER EACH OTHER. FOR THAT REASON, I WALK ALL BETWEEN BUT ULTIMATELY SETTLED ON A CORE RATING FOR THAT SETTING. THE NEXT ONE IS FOR [INAUDIBLE] CONVERSATIONS COMMENDABLE BECAUSE I DID NOT SEE ANYWAY, CONVERSATIONS. MADE STANDARD ON-BOARD MEMBERS DID NOT REPEAT WHAT I'M SORRY, YOU SAID THERE WERE A COUPLE OF STUDENTS. THERE WERE A COUPLE OF PEOPLE REPEATED THEMSELVES MOSTLY FOR CLARIFICATION. GAVE YOU A THREE OR MAYBE STANDARD FOR BOARD MEMBERS DO NOT PLAY THE AUDIENCE OR NOTICE THE DISCUSSION BECAUSE, WELL, I DON'T BELIEVE ANYBODY PLAYED TO THE AUDIENCE. THERE WERE A COUPLE OF INSTANCES WHERE I FELT LIKE CERTAIN BOARD MEMBERS WERE TAKING AN ORAL DISCUSSION AND OTHERS. NOT SAYING ANY WORDS SPECIFIC MONOPOLISTIC IF THERE WERE A COUPLE OF PEOPLE WHO I FEEL LIKE COULD HAVE GIVEN MORE INPUT IF THEY HAD A CHANCE. AGAIN, THE STANDARD ON-BOARD MEMBERS SUPPORTED PRESENCE EDITORS TO FACILITATE YOUR COMMUNITY. THERE WERE PROBLEMS SINCE AGAIN THE INTERRUPTION, THAT'S A LITTLE BIT DISORDERLY. NOT QUITE COMMENDABLE. BUT THE LAST THREE BOARD MEMBERS COMMUNICATED OPENLY AND ACTIVELY IN DISCUSSION DIALOGUE TO WHICH PRIZES ALL BOARD MEMBERS CONTRIBUTED TO THIS MEETING AND BOARD MEMBERS PRACTICED RESPECTFUL BODY LANGUAGE AND YOU GUYS GOT COMMENDABLE SCORES. OVERALL PERFORMANCE WAS NEEDS STANDARD. [BACKGROUND] >> THANK YOU GABBY FOR THAT VERY DETAILED REPORT. IT CAN'T GET BETTER IF WE DON'T HEAR MY FAULTS AS WELL. THANK YOU FOR HAVING US REVIEW IT. HOW DO WE SEE IT? YOU [INAUDIBLE] CAN BE SCARY. [LAUGHTER] ANYWAY. NOW BRINGS US TO THE END OF OUR AGENDA, AND SO WITH THAT. I WILL THANK EVERYONE AND PUT UP THE NEW JOURNEY. * This transcript was compiled from uncorrected Closed Captioning.
